notice my word choice... "would" not "will" because as been stated there all dif weight classes really, the stars would need to align and someone would need to take a rather unwarranted chance for either of those fights to ever happen

Martinez did that maybe twice in the fight and got results everytime. Why he stopped I have no clue. Now his trainer Gunna is having legal problems in California and could not travel to AC for the fight. But I don't see Martinez as a fighter that will give a good boxer any trouble. He's very easy to solve and beat. If Martinez fought behind his jab (which does have some pop when he sits down on it) and learned how to defend with his hands up, and learned to throw hooks, and not fall completely off balance when he throws the stright left he'd be ok. But hey he did start boxing at 20 and if he fights a good ring general it will show very very quickly.
ur saying this all like he doesnt know how to though... because he didnt doesnt mean he cant...

he clearly had 0 respect for barker and was jus tryna get his rep up leavin his hands at his hips tryna be all roy jones

sergio is better than he gets credit for i think but he tries to be so damn flashy he oft comes off jus lookin bad like last night...

like u say had he stayed to the game plan onnna fighter that fights with the cage up like that he woulda finished the fight on body blows, everytime he did it tho he saw barker didnt like it and tried to go body, head, head, head, instead of body, body, head over n over again

I'm not really understanding what you're trying to say.
He did try to go to the body in the later rounds but he should have been doing that from the beginning on a high guard style boxer. That's just common boxing sense. Martinez's style makes him a fighter that can be beat. He doesn't fight the conventional way, yet his style is perfect for a traditional boxer because he makes mistakes in the ring. I'm not dissing Martinez, I like Martinez but I believe if he did what I said he'll be 10x better.

watching the fight makes me even more mad Paul williams sat there and wanted to brawl with him both fights and not just box him and pick him apart.

he is who he is as a figther. since the cintron fight(1st time i remember seen him) he has fought with the same style. a counter punch, who uses his speed to pick apart his opponent. has zero defense.

if he wants to drain himself to get a pay day and fight Floyd or Pac at 150 he will lose to both. just picture what floyd would do in the middle of the ring if martinez tired to fight with that hands down counter punching crap and he would end up eating wayyyy to many pac punchs.

160 is a +!$% division. i see sergio is only calling out people smaller then him cotto, pac, the cheater and Floyd and none of the big boys in the 168 division.

Come on, bruh! We both know Sergio is wayyy too small for 160. His team even said he wouldn't venture into the 168 division because he's too small.  When the team is pleading that, why would they consider facing the lineal Light Heavy champ?

Look at the champs at 154 and 160, who wants to fight him?  No one wants Martinez.  The risk doesn't match the reward.

Pac and Floyd have won a title at 154, and Sergio said he'll go down to 150.  It'll never happen, but it's not a crazy, dumb idea.

That's Pun Williams, though.  He never fights tall.

So why did barker crumple after a half blocked shot??? did this ever get described

And i honestly think Sergio is a beast and would beat PBF or Manny.  I think both of them would be dumb to try to fight him at a catch weight of 150.  Barker hit sergio more then you would have thought but he took every shot in stride.  What he did in the 10th round is typical Sergio. You don't give Barker enough credit he is a well trained classic boxer.  He also is taller then Sergio which made it a little more difficult not to mention the orthodox vs southpaw "advantage" that barker thought he had.

I think sergio is too strong and pretty equivalent in speed to may and paq.  Say what you will about his power and lack of blocking his fights are exciting.  And he goes out of his way to make them exciting.  Its a shame he doesn't get more love.  He is willing to exchange and the last 3 fights have been stoppages, pavlik was a blood bath and Williams part one was an epic battle.

Barker is a true middleweight.  That's why he lasted a bit.  Pavlik was already done, when he fought Sergio.  And Pun and Dzurnik (sp?) are Jr. Middles.  Martinez finally stepped in a ring with a true MW.

This notion of him getting in with Hop is pure stupidity.  Hop is the lineal Light Heavyweight Champion. And probably walks around at 200.

Pac and Floyd easily beat Martinez.  It's just that the risk doesn't match the reward.

Not trying to argue by why do you think this?  Would like to hear why people think this.

I think floyd might win a UD against Martinez and I think him vs pac would be super entertaining since both are willing to trade at times.  But easily??? not a chance id give floyd and pac maybe a slight edge if that.  If they fight at 150lbs and Sergio rehydrates up to 160 i think that is scary for floyd and pac

Easily.  I have Floyd by wide UD, and Pac winning a 116-112 bout.

Martinez fights with his guard down, hands in his pocket.  You get a guy that moves in and out of range, he'll trouble Martinez.

I like Martinez and agree with the #3 P4P ranking, but in a fight with men quick feet, I have him losing.
