18 year old shot by Police in Berkley missouri.

On the same scale as the Brown/Garner protests? Not even remotely close.

Like I said earlier, a lot of things are going to have happen for black on black crime to stop and it's more than just black people "doing better" and it's more than just protesting. The majority of this country needs to first accept a large majority of blacks, especially in these inner cities are not on equal ground with the rest of America. The whole boot strap philosophy is garbage when your school system can't afford to give every student a text book. When you're in a trash education system you never learn to value education. When You bring a quality education to an area you bring innovation, business/money, and motivation to do better. We want things to change? White people have to start caring too even though many of them aren't affected by these problems.

the deflection all around is lame.

black on black crime is a strawman argument to change the subject of the police issues at hand.

is there a time and place to talk about black on black crime?  yes,  but it's distasteful to bring it up in threads like this.

last i recalled the majority of the time black on black crime happens, the suspect ends up facing legal reprecussions.

i read an article in the ny post about people protesting for this idiot antonio martin though which is kinda silly to me.  not sure how credible to view it as though considering the ny post is very biased when it comes to police related things.

I think the protests started before they knew he was armed

in that case, i can rationalize with that.   i hope cats down there don't try and throw this dude in their rallying cry though.

the fact that alot of people didn't give law enforcement the benefit of the doubt initially in a situation like this stems from all these past instances where bad things have happened to unarmed folks though.

I love how theirs apparently 33 different videos in that gas station.. Yet they've only released two (which they admitted to editing for the families respect... you know the same family they let watch their son die in the streets for an hour). And the dash along with the body camera he was assigned was just off.

These dudes shouldn't have the power to edit videos how they see fit. they are manipulating evidence.
They are editing it for public release. They have all the angles.

Why should the videos be edited by the police for the public conception ?... I don't want videos altered by a department that does everything in it's power to protect the officers.... Who the **** are they to determine what part of the video is important or not?

I've saw cops plant things on people growing up, i've saw cops lie and make up bogus charges.... why would i trust a cop basically editing evidence? It makes 0 sense. In the case of Akai Gurley in BK. They shot the man.... didn't call an ambulance, instead they made a call to their ****** union leader. These dudes are doing wrong and knowing that they are gonna be protected by their department it's sickening.

Are you suggesting that he did didn't have a gun? Thats not really up for debate.

The police don't have to prove **** to you. The only people that should be allowed to view the unedited tapes, outside of the investigators, should be the family.

Police just killed a dude in my hometown...

Might be thread worthy because the body is still there from last night. :x

I thought that was standard procedure till investigators show up? I've seen two instances of suicides when dudes jump off a building and the body laid there for up to 6 hours blood oozing out the body and all

1. They are, but there is a difference see: #2

2. In the killings in Chicago, a person/people get charged with a crime and go to jail. The killing of Black males by police officers do not.

happened at 2:30 am... Roads are closed off that pass n front if the club.

1. Post statistics, because I'm pretty sure far more blacks murder each other than the police does. The media frenzy lately is making it seem more than it is, meanwhile Nayshaun just got shot in a drive by shooting and well will hear NOTHING of it.

Did you read my explanation? We know there is Black on Black crime, but the person gets caught and is brought to justice. When a cop kills a Black male he gets off. Comparing Black on Black crime to Cops (government) killing Black males is apples and oranges. The "Black on Black" crime argument is inherently flawed when you consider that Black males have been unjustly targeted strictly based on their skin color.

2. A lot of civilians shootings are unsolved and no one gets charged

True, but not when they are video tape.

3. Most police shootings are justified, most people who get shot by the police don't get shot for no reason.

Even you don't know this as absolute fact. Police are given the benefit of the doubt, there are laws that protect police officers more than regular civilians. So in essence, their lives matter more than mine.

Dudes have been pushing this blacks kill black rhetoric since Mike Brown... What does that have to do with an officer of the law killing unarmed black men "by mistake" & not being convicted of anything, hell not even going to trial.

If ALL black on black violence stopped today, what effect does that have on police killing black people. It doesn't happen that often... it's happened 30+ times since Mike Brown yet NOBODY has been on trial.

Also black men who kill other black men are usually criminals correct, Criminals sure aren't deemed to be smart, or honorable, or responsible people correct. We don't assume they have a regular moral code or values as most regular humans correct. We vilify them, we call them the scum of the earth, we make sure it's known that they are evil people.

So why aren't you holding cops to a higher standard then criminals. Cops are trained for years for these situations, they are "honorable", they are "brave", they are "tactical", they are here to "serve & protect" the community. SO OF COURSE people are going to be more upset with them killing black people rather than a criminal. They are supposed to be at a COMPLETELY DIFFERENT standard then a criminal, & possess much more knowledge, dignity, & understanding then a guy who's breaking the law for a lifetime. Yet somehow they commit the same actions & still have all this ******** positive stigma attached to them.

If the police don't prove **** to us then the history of hate towards them will continue. Why not release the unedited tapes if there is nothing to hide.

Cops are professionals to compare them to disadvantaged inner city youths is absolutely ridiculous

Also the police should have to prove their case....freedom of information, they serve the police

The fact that they are professionals doesn't mean the problem of inner city youths should not be addressed. Professionals make mistakes, all professionals. I agree the police should have to prove their case, no one is saying that. And there should be repercussions for malpractice and in BLATANT incidents of intentional killings they should be prosecuted. I am yet to see one of these cases that would warrant a cop being tried as a criminal. I do think they should either be sued or fired, eg. in the Garner case.

It's like having to hold your brother accountable for his actions and even shunning him if you have to. The cops are foreign, and have a long history of mistreatment of black (but who the hell hasn't). The cops are a scapegoat for a lot of ills in the black community that will not be fixed by further alienating the police.

A scapegoat for what ills? Pls be specific

Because you aren't the law deciding if it was justified. Authority figures don't care if you see it or not.

You can play conspiracy theorist with your tin foil hat all day, and no one will care.

and no, I'm not saying that police/government shouldn't be checked on

Yeah inner city violence should be discussed just not in this thread.

We are talking about police conduct in this thread

Dude completely ignored the entire point of the post and went back to black on black crime.

& also said that in none of these cases has a crime been committed. there is no point in even talking to this dude at this point. The Eric Gardner case where he choked the man to daeth on video in a move that's banned by the police only deserves a firing.

Companies have to release they're financials.... To prove no funny business...

But cops don't.

Seems legit

So you'll continue to derail this thread instead of making a separate thread to discuss the issue?
