🦉The Official Drake Thread6️⃣ - Drake & PND Album Fall 2024

If you're basing a rappers ability on this then you don't know rap.
Where did I say anything about his skill correlating to sales? Nowhere? Oh Ok. Good effort

idc who's better but I'll listen to views 10 times out of 10 before I listen to TPAB.
I'd rather hear chalkboard being scratched for an hour straight than listen to TPAB again, b.

While this album doesn't have that wow factor whatsoever & did not live up to the hype/expectations, it's ok.

My initial negative reaction was more so based off of me being disappointed about not going to the SS16 concert anymore because I can't get jiggy to this **** at that type of function.

This is is more of that late night, cruisin' with a shorty type of music or balled up in your room gone off the hookah & Smirnoffs thinking about your ex music.

Some of yall hate this man so much :lol

He makes the most mediocre music in r and b (hip hop) and gets praised like he's the genres savior.

Like people are really saying Drake is better than Kendrick?!? For real? Where's Anti dope at , let me guess, views is better than TPAB?

I said it when NWTS came out and I'll say it now, Drake is the most overrated person in music.

And with all that said... spoken like fact when its strictly opinion... History will look at you like a fool. :lol

The "The music is going over your head/too smart for you" response. It sucks because it sucks. Its not some transcendent thing that you need an ivy league law degree to decipher

Another real post in here :Nthat Repped

It's implied, why else would you want to show the numbers?

Because it's the thread of an artist that just released his album... which gets sold :lol

Really son, call it a night. He didn't even quote anyone with that post that would make this a logical assumption.

It was not implied. I said nothing that would have lead to you making that inference. It was about the sales and nothing more.

Why would I want to show them? Because they're relevant? Drake album sales in the Drake thread... Whats your aim here man? Seriously.

You read what you wanted to read.

I certainly didn't say anything about it "going over your head". I simply said it's not for EVERYBODY.

I never heard a single David Bowie song in my life that I cared to listen to twice. Because it isn't for me. I would be a complete moron to say that "David Bowie sucks"
Except I've heard TPAB and it sucks.

If we're talking about implying things, calling album A "A piece of art that blah blah blah" and calling album B "Surface level music" is certainly implying something.

I thought he was showing the numbers because people always want to know what somebody is selling / sold ... I didn't connect that with anti implying anything about skill [emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji][emoji]128514[/emoji]

In the words of your fellow simp brothers it's all subjective and opinion.

Only if you think "surface level music" is an insult.

But you're the same guy who hates r&b but loves a ***** that makes r&b and can't actually sing...so I wouldn't really expect you to get it.

It really does make zero sense.

Anyway look like the homie Big Quint upgraded that camera

TPAB isn't for everybody. Comparing that and anything Drake has done is like apples and oranges.

TPAB was an art project made out of the conventional confines of modern rap that everyone won't understand. Kind of like how there are bunch of ppl who will find Basquiat's paintings ugly or ppl who think Stanley Kubrick made bad movies.

Drake makes 100% surface level music that any and everyone can connect with and that's one of the reasons why he's the most popular person in the game right now.

Fair. That's a good explanation.

I'm more disappointed that Drake gave me false hopes with IYRTITL, I love that project, as a Drake hater I'll admit that. I even enjoyed the tracks like Jungle and Wednesday Night Interlude, but it was mostly just some dope music.

I guess I was just hoping for something more along the lines of that, especially for how much this has been hyped.

And call me a Kanye Stan, but I'm still bumping TLOP...

His album good? I haven't really peeped it. Downloaded but haven't listened. I've had a hard time listening to his solo projects since "Death is Certain" which is a great album by the way.
Boy spitting

Maybe Kendrick should've made it more "understandable" and then LA might've bought more copies :lol.

i think what you as a drake hater and many other are not understanding is that iyrtitl was an anomaly for Drake. Views is the "real" Drake. he didnt help himself with iyrtitl and wattba because people expected more bangers for the summer but he just went back to the formula which people are calling lazy but I'm just not quite sure what they wanted cause if its more bangers thats your own fault.
