I agree the #2 on draft night was when it had it's peak value. Having said that, I can't say they goofed by not trading it because I don't know what was on the table. I can say they goofed by picking Wiseman over Ball for the reasons

Another thing to consider - as we learned with the James Harden situation and a few others, in this era trades aren't just about the team offering the best assets. Now, where the player wants to go is a major factor so it may not hurt GSW too much if someone says "Nah, it's GSW or I'm not signing an extension". But yes, we are in agreement that if a goodtrade was a value on draft day that was the best move....taking LaMelo was the second best move....they made the worst possible move and took Wiseman
We'll know a lot more after the lottery plays out because hell, if they don't make the playoffs their own lottery pick could be packaged too.

that ain't entirely true. from where the Hawks are going, it's higher usage rate for Trey. so there's no real use for Rondo there other than an emergency back-up point guard.
