Again I don't even have any pull at the youth level, zero connections to the professional game.

One horrendous season doesn't erase Klopp's body of work.  If someone told me Dortmund's current situation was mostly the result of inept coaching I'd find it hard to believe.

I'm forgetting the og here who's a Schalke supporter but I'd love to hear from Bundesliga followers what's really going on up there in the north.

Outside of injuries to key players like Marco Reus, Ilkay Gundogan, & others for long periods of time, defense has been Dortmund's biggest problem (they've scored 18 goals & allowed 27). Look how poor the Dortmund defense looked on the loan goal scored in today's game against Augsburg. They should be absolutely ashamed of their effort defensively today especially on that goal.

The other issue is that Kloop's attack was really built around Lewandowski. He was a tireless runner & his link up play with the likes of Rues & Gotze (when he was there) made for a vicious weapon that terrorized opposing defenses.

I thought Immobile & Adrian Ramos who was brought in from Hertha Berlin would be able to replicate some of Lewa's production but they have struggled a great deal. , Immobile has really proven to be a penalty box striker at least now... That's my 2 cents.

With regards to Madrid's Bale... He's not being selfish at all. An attacking player is supposed to take those shots but also make them too. The booing is being too hyped up though... For anyone that's watched football long enough will remember the Dbag Bernabeu crowd/Madridistas even boo'd the likes of Original Ronaldo, Zidane, & Christiano Ronaldo so Bale getting boo'd really isn't a big deal.

Like a new signing has never been so fitting. What a way to take your chance. You could tell there was something special about him when we were getting mauled by United during the 8-2 and he was the only player would could leave the pitch with his head held high especially as other more 'seasoned' players clearly gave no f***s...

:lol :{

Hope Coquelin keep it up and continues to reward the faith Arsene showed in him.

A lot of Bale's boos this season are deserved. His game at times isn't intricate enough for Madrid's link up play. He had an insane price tag on him. Neymar got his back destroyed over the summer and from what I've seen dudes been balling as the number 2. Bale's been looking like just a role player out there. And a role player who often times is keeping a standout fan favorite in Isco on the bench.

I still think Bale will come through in CL matches. But dudes play in La Liga has been subpar for the reasonable expectations placed on him.

Bale is having a solid campaign so far with a total of 14 goals & 6 assists through 23 games he's played in (including La Liga, CL, & Club WC). He's been guilty of not passing the ball a handful of times & the douchey Bernabeu crowd/Madridistas are booing him.

I just think it's funny that they've boo'd the likes of original Ronnie, Zidane, & Cristiano Ronnie so that tells you the intelligence level of those complaining about Bale (this comment isn't directed towards you flyeed flyeed ).

Truth is, the whole team isn't playing well (particularly the defense) since the start of the new year & Madridistas have chosen to blame Bale. Go figure. :rolleyes

In addition to James missing the next two months, Ramos is out for at least the debry with a hamstring problem. :evil

Edit - I think the one criticism you could have of Bale is his defense. He's falling way short in his defensive responsibilities.

Bale has a horrible first touch and when he's on the field with great dribblers and other guys who control the ball - that part of his game makes him look elementary. Those are more criticisms.

The stuff about not passing and taking shots wouldn't bother me if I was a Madrid fan, that stuff happens. More power to him for being confident. But the more I watch Bale play compared to his teammates, he definitely gets lost in the shuffle too often. I thought Real Madrid would be crazy to let him go because of how athletic he is and how great a left foot he has - but the more I watch the more I'm convinced Madrid is not the place for him.

Bale is an EPL player thru and thru, it's his nature, it's what his game is about. He needs to run. I agree with Fly tho, I think Bale will be extremely useful in the champions league against teams like Bayern or Chelsea - but Madrid need more than just that. Bale back to the EPL & Reus into Madrid is making more and more sense.

^ Contrary to popular belief, hookah or *****a smoking is not safer than cigarettes (according to numerous medical sources like the Mayo Clinic). The tobacco is no less toxic in a hookah pipe, and the water in the hookah does not filter out the toxic ingredients in the tobacco smoke.

Madrid fans are indeed spoiled (as with most supporters of big clubs - even Barca). People hating on Bale are ones that never liked him anyway or saying he was overrated.

It's funny seeing the bandwagonism or the ebb & flow of sports fans... From beastmode levels to last year's classico (where he left Bartra in the dust) right into the CL through this campaign... That FK he had not too long ago was one of the best I've seen in a while.

Bottom line is haters are always going to hate & wait to pile on... :rolleyes

Coupé It Coupé It - I'm not sure what you do when watching footy matches but Bale has a nice first touch. His dribbling on the other hand isn't on the same level as his Spanish compatriots but he's still solid with the ball.

Wish I had the gif of the goal he had from a pass from Modric early in the campaign... Absolutely gorgeous first touch, twice...

I think all the Bale criticism is getting overblown to be honest. I am a fan of his and I know he has his weaknesses and virtues but all in all he's a great player. It doesn't help that this RM team depends less on counter-attacking like in the Mourinho era. I think had he scored all the goals in which he refused to pass we wouldn't be having this discussion at all. But I think objectively speaking, we're fielding out a team that keeps the ball and produces goals and as a result some fans feel Bale should play more into that. He needs to lift his head and recognize open passes; there will be games where that's as close to goal we'll get.  I like his confidence and every now and then I don't mind his individualism because it balances our 9's unselfish nature. I guess in a few words: Bale needs to be more selective.

I wonder if Wilshere and Szczeny go for smoke breaks together

He does not have a nice first touch man, maybe you're confusing James with Bale or something but there have been so many different occasions where he gets fed the ball right before he's about to explode to run - he touches the ball away from his running path. Wasting valuable seconds that he could have been running with the ball to start a play.

Usually it happens when he has to toe poke the ball with his right foot on the right wing to create space off a first touch - but he does not do a good job of doing it, which brings up the other issue - he doesn't have a good right foot. (Maybe you have to evaluate his skill when it's not just highlight goals :lol )

When I mean a "bad job" I'm comparing him to his other teammates - James, Isco, Ronaldo who literally put the ball where they want. Bale will be coming to a crossroads soon, whether he wants to stay or whether he wants to go. That's the way it's looking, if thats the case - no one in here can deny the fact that he is the prototypical EPL star player. He'd be better suited going back if he or Real aren't happy.

I think much of Bale's criticism is due to the price Real Madrid paid for him. IMO if he doesn't cost so much, the fans wouldn't be booing him like this, but when your the highest paid transfer, they fans might be expecting more from him.

Can someone embed this? Running at almost full speed no less.

It's amazing when someone has made up their mind on an opinion & then sees only what they want to see.

BTW, a scouting review of Bale from 2006 when he was 17 that says, "Once there he was comfortable receiving the ball with a neat first touch, and showed intelligent distribution."

Unless you stop playing, you don't lose a first touch...

Hopefully Milan are playing champions league football before the stadium is finished or it will be a waste of money even with 48k seats, they have been averaging 26,000 in attendance this year.
