meaningless tournament expands to 16 teams and looking for venues outside the US

Did anyone here think PSG would advance even with Neymar?

I don't get Barca signing Griez unless they plan on selling someone. However, if the release clause is €100m then that's a bargain in today's out of control market. And I'm a bit confused why RM, who have been struggling to score, have seemingly not even considered him.

they should...but they won't

really doubt they would have kept this madrid team in check anyways...even with neymar
defense is soft. no quality dm either

agreed.

neymar gave them the threat though going forward to keep RM a little honest (as if marcelo plays any defense anyway). But with the first leg ending up the way it did...madrid was a heavy favorite.

I hope Neymar is alright though. Ankle sprains can be super painful hopefully its nothing worse then that though

One thing to keep in mind though is instead of facing a makeshift RB in Nacho, Neymar would have been facing Carvajal in the return leg. Neymar would still be a force, but not advancing the ball at will like when Nacho was on his heels.

Also thinking more about Griezzy, with Asensio and Lucas becoming great team players, I'd rather just save the bag for certified galacticos. Like Neymar and maybe when the time comes M'bappe and the likes of 'Arry or who knows even KDB to replace Modric. If Hazard can't put together a top performance against Barca, he'll fall off RM's radar.

Doesn't he play the same position as Goatnaldo?

Also are they not rivals? Both clubs being in Madrid and all

Speaking of RM attackers. Vinicius will be joining RM this summer. He'll play in preseason and then they'll decide if/where in Europe to loan him. They're very adamant on getting him out of Brazil though where he gets fouled/roughed up an insane amount. RM are convinced he'll be a world beater. I wonder how people will look at that "outrageous" 45m they dropped on him in a few years.

The issue with rivalry is less about players hating the other team. It's more that they try to avoid buying/selling between each other. RM broke this by snagging Theo Hernandez from Atletico, because they felt he'd be worth it as an exception. So far he hasn't shown it, but he's also only 20. Realized Griezzy wouldn't be best for RM in the grand scheme anyways though.

Nope.

I said even before the season started that the key to CL success was buying Oblak from Atletico.

Defense is buns and rumors are, Thiago Silva is leaving this summer. After he leaves there will be no solid leader in the locker room.

A central defender and a keeper need to be coming in this summer.

Madrid shows up in the CL. It’s a well known fact that no matter how bad they may look in La Liga, they will go hard for that European trophy. We goofed and now our talisman player is broken and Madrid has found form again.

I can only hope that the PSG that faced Barca in the first leg last year shows up next game against Madrid.

Hope they loan out Vinicius within Spain preferably a Leganes, Vallecano
Achraf needs loan spell for sure
Ceballos will probably be loaned back to Betis

i think you are underestimating atleti's culture of hatred towards Real
things are relatively respectful between barca and atleti

i don't get the signing of griezman either...but it is griez.
if a player like that wants to join it's got to be hard to pass him up. can't imagine any club would

Sevilla will beat Man United. That game is an L. 1-1 draw and Sevilla progress. Man United will be knackered after (unsuccessfully) chasing shadows for 90 minutes against Liverpool 3 days prior.

I read about this the other day. It makes sense taking into consideration the aging Robben and Ribery. If it happens, they will have Coman, Gnabry and Malcom:sick:

Nope, they wouldn't advance even if he was fit.

Rafinha will be sold for sure. Wouldn't be surprised if Gerry was sold, along with Gomes. What's going on with Denis Suarez?

What's going on with Denis Suarez?
hes been poor. hot and cold from the beginning. valverde gave him plenty of chances and has failed to show his worth...coutinho made it worse.
hasn't made the squad list in like 3 games i think.

rafinha, gomes, gerry, denis suarez should all be gone by the summer
probably aleix vidal as well

Carrasco & Gaitan just left to China
Made me lose a lot of respect for Carrasco. Him and Axel Witsel. Sucks that they went to China when they could've stayed in Europe to compete at higher levels.

Shocked about Carrasco heading to China :wow:

Dude belongs in Europe's top leagues but I guess the payday must be serious

yeah gonna say im surprised Carrasco left for China...but knowing what Oscar and Lavezzi make...il hold off on judgement

Cant believe Carrasco fell out of favor that quick. He had just got the number 10 this season if I'm not mistaken

If he's not ready for the first team I wouldn't mind him going to a Segunda side that could challenge for promotion either. Would rather he bags a bunch of goals against lesser players while acclimating to Europe than being shut out, muscled, and possibly benched.
