Damn he couldnt score that gimme but scores a gorgeous volley like that a few mins after

Scousers are too deep man :smh:

:wow:

On this note, Benfica confirms the transfer of Ruben Dias, 68m plus bonuses.

By my math that puts City at roughly 480,000,000 spent on JUST defenders since Pep has arrived.

To put that into perspective:

Only 43 clubs have spent more than 480,000,000 in their entire HISTORY. From ~1870-2021, just 43 clubs have spent more than that sum, ever.

If you ranked clubs by all-time transfer spending, it would go:

40. Fulham, 542.2m
41. Genoa, 542m
42. Sampdoria, 496m
43. Middlesbrough, 480.1m
44. Manchester City Defenders from 2017-2021, 480m
45. Ajax, 473m
46. Fenerbahce, 450m
47. Schalke, 441m
48. Rennes, 406m
49. West Brom, 402m
50. Betis, 399m

This probably got lost during the pool arsenal match, but bringing it back just to say there's absolutely no way city broke FFP. zero percent chance anything shady happened with their books. This is a very reasonable amount of money spent on defenders in 5 years

This is why I don’t think Pep leaves City, even tho many of you have been talking about how he’s leaving.

Pep never had and never will have it so good. He’s got an open checkbook at City and he’s not under any pressure. The English media is a cakewalk compared to Spain, that Barça job is wayyyy too heavy.

I don’t see him leaving City anytime soon, why would he?

I know Coupé It Coupé It sick from that Jota goal

Zizou is electing to make Mayoral his second striker and not Jovic, Joic could be gone before window closes. RIP Jovic FC? (loan possibility)

We'll take him on loan as a CF/ST backup easy. RM never made sense for him. He'll probably flourish in our system

why go from riding the pine for one team to another? Dude needs to play

He'll get solid minutes with us. We have a match on average every 3.3 days this year. Lewa already picked up a slight knock and the season just started. Flick has also mentioned wanting to try out a 2 striker system sometimes if we get a capable 2nd striker. I think it'd be a good move for him if there's clearly no future at RM. He'd at least get to play with us

surprised to see how many people still want jovic when he's looked so bad for madrid
not a top club striker imo
