Word Af1s are coming back hard with this campaign nike is doing. Got all these Young celebrities modeling for them.

same cats that said " you still wear forces" will be the same ones out looking for a pair tomorrow.

Kanye dressin like from Braveheart or something...

Usually don't see people rockin forces these days except for Japanese people, hood dudes, older black dudes, and maybe some guys who buy the special colorways like the Jones Beach, Foamposite x AF1, etc.

On campus, literally 95% of Asians wear some type of Air Force (no exaggeration)

That slowbux sweater looks like it was made specificaly for the IVs

Asap looks like a hipster from shabuya lol.
Rocky wearin mid all white Willie Ds tho
glasses.gif

Thought that was just a southern thing.
nike probably sent him a check.

those air force mids deserve to die a slow painful death like they're how they're going thru it right now.

da mids i got are so awkward..mad i ever bought em.

AF1s have always sold. and always will. At Nike meeting they literally told us if AF1s were a seperate company they'd be #3 in most sales behind NIke and Jordan. Nike sells more Air Force ones than Addidas and Reebok sell SHOES. :x

WHATS WRONG W ALL WHITE MIDS???

IM FROM NJ IF IT MATTERS.

ALSO ANYONE KNOW DA MSRP FOR THOSE LUNAR FORCES?
purist loathe air force I mid because when air force I's originally debuted in 1982, it was only air force I hi and air force I low.

da mid's weren't created until way later in 1992, when da air force I's was officially made as a yearly shoe.

oh wait so nowwww forces are making a comeback into mainstream?....next year people will be lining up to buy AF1's.....this is sick.

inb4 the DMV claims AF1's before NY like they did foamposites.
air force I's is definitely dead buzz wise.

i mean have you seen da hype for galaxy kicks, and yeezys because of a glow in da dark sole? air force I dropped a pair of all grey and white wit a glow in da dark

sole and they are STILL chilling in da flea market after i copped em. a few years ago those would've been SOOOO hyped.

one of da problems with air force I's is da fact that da cost has risen to a point where you're looking at yourself like "yo em i really gonna drop 95-100-110 for

a pair of all white uptowms thats gonna get cooked in 24 hours?"

and not for nothing, air force I mids in all black have always been kicks for jabronis, only force I's i make sure i pick up are highs and lows

that are on sale and look good.

mids need to be extinct.

They're "making a comeback into mainstream" (just typing that felt ridiculous) because ASAP is wearing them?

All white ones no less? All white Forces are timeless. Lunar sole or not. Plus, dude is from Harlem.
ALL WHITE MIDS...

thunder got it right.

back at its peak, air force I's all white was a shoe you bought dead in da middle of da winter, around january when they dropped, and stashed em till da summer time.

if you was a lazy bum or was too late to cop da lows you would have to begrudgingly get a pair of mids and tuck your pants over em so people dont see da hideous strap.

i remember people turning down all white mids in their size IN DA MIDDLE OF DA SUMMER if there was one or 2 left in da back that wasn't on display.

me personally i never liked all white air force I's, its da white tee for your feet, no imagination, too bland, too common. i always needed colors for mine.

da only people who wear force I's in my hood are, older hood dudes (older then 26) babies (easy shoe to buy infants and toddlers...matches everything)

and mcdonalds employees in da all black mids.

da general concensus of air force I's when you rock em is "starter kit" i think that started happening when you started seeing all white force I's just languish at stores

in NYC..something that used to never happen years ago.

nike has a major hand in da over saturation of force I's as well...we're in da 30th year of air force I's, and they're STILL smarting over da mass rejection of all those ridiculous

colors from da 25th anniversary colorways, my local mom and pop shop da flea market still has a GOOD selection of alot of those pairs from 5 years ago.

Not all "purists" hate all the mids. Some do boycott it totally. Personally, while the mids are BY FAR my least favorite cut of the shoe, there are certainly a few dozen pairs that I consider dope. In fact, Indy jewels may be on my top 10 or 20 AF1s of all time. It''s just that we are much more selective about mids than the other cuts. ...Some dudes don't like highs either. Personally, highs are my favorite.

Lol at dudes at mcdonalds with black mids. But that is exactly what i was trying to say. I have always associated mids with work 9-5 or otherwise :smokin
Not everyone is a sneakerhead tho. When regular dudes get off work from mcdonalds or walmart or the track or watever they don't go home and change into some jordans or brons. I wouldnt expect to see black or white mids at the club or even in a line for sneakers, thats why it was weird seeing asap rock them. I wouldnt consider mids stylish but aint nothin like wearing sweats with all white mids with the strap hangin. But real talk, everything hood just said is what i think most nyers think about mids, thats why i thought it was just a southern thing. I still like them and usually have all whites on deck, but i do understand how they are kinda like the bastard forces lol. Anyway, back to the topic

Completely agree with everything ninja said here.
Y'all remember back when instead of an XI coming out every December they'd do the black/*insert* color contrast stitched AF1 mid with the LE on the insole? Happened for a few years I wanna say around like 2001-2003. Always sold out on release where I lived in upstate NY. I think they did yellow first, then a grey, and then a red. The grey was the hardest IMO :pimp: They came with the round LE medallion too. I'm gonna try to find a pic.

I remember those releases. (Come to the Team AF1 thread if you want to relive all those days. LOL.)

But, they hardly sold out on release everywhere. I beat the hell of out my pair of black/greys, and I got them at the annual Transit 40% off sale well after release, IIRC.

Like I said, the mids are a mixed bag. There are a TON of crappy releases, but there are gems too. I'ma have to take a AF1 mid shoe porn pic to post.

Can someone seriously please explain what is happing here.  I am earnestly asking.  Either I am older or out of the loop so much that I am utterly perplexed by this and many of the other trends.  Is there a connection to Scotland I am not aware of?
