Is he worth that contract???
Personally I woulda been fine with 4 yrs 14-16 mil........... 20 seems a lil high IMO

The Heat are going to be loaded this year, anyone chasing a ring is going to sign there. I'm sure a couple of the amnesty guys will sign there.

And Buc Em, calling Kapono worse than Walton is pure hyperbole. Being good at one thing>>>Being terrible at everything. Kapono on a loaded team has value because he can get open shots. On a team that doesn't have the talent the Laker has and needs help everywhere he is worthless. But if you can tell a guy like him don't worry about anything else except making open 3's he has value. He's a carrer .44% shooter from deep. Yes, his numbers feel off the past two years but if you put him in his hometown of LA on a contender I am confident his numbers will go up.

Chuck is worth every penny. Dude guards all the elite 4's and 5's in the league. And holds his own despite being 6'6. Defensive minded Chuck Hayes paired up with an offensive minded Cousins

I don't know who the hell you hang out with or speak to but Kapono hasn't had any "hype" surrounding him since he joined Toronto back in 2007.
Do I really need to dig up the thread where people were praising the Mo Evans/Kapono trade?

That's not how it works.

I like what Hayes could bring to the Kings (or any team for that matter), but between him, Cousins, Hickson and possibly Dalembert that seems like a logjam up front. Overpaying him too, but the Kings have a lot of cap space.

RAPTORS AGREE TO TERMS WITH MAGLOIRE ON ONE-YEAR CONTRACT

The Toronto Raptors have agreed to terms with veteran centre Jamaal Magloire.

The Toronto-born Magloire averaged 1.9 points and 3.4 rebounds in 18 games with the Miami Heat last season.

Once an NBA all-star (with the New Orleans Hornets in 2003-04), the 33-year-old has seen his minutes dwindle as his age and past injuries caught up with him.

Originally taken 19th overall by the Charlotte Hornets in the 2000 NBA Draft, Magloire has also had stints in Milwaukee, Portland, New Jersey, and Dallas.

In 646 career NBA games, Magloire has a career field-goal percentage of 48.1 per cent, averaging 7.5 points and 6.6 rebounds per game.

More details to follow.

Anybody think that with the recent news regarding Howard, Paul and Wiliiams...the owners will veto the new CBA? I mean, wasn't competitive balance a big reason as to why the lockout lasted as long as it did?

if I'm Sam Presti, I offer Russel Westbrook + salary filler + 1st round pick for CP3

then

Perkins + Harden + 1st round pick for Dwight

The deal will be voted on.

My jays-

The situations are all different for Howard CP3, and DWill. How they are handling it is how they wanted it to be per say. Your talking lebron passing on junk change If Cleveland did not do a sign and trade last year for him to sign with heat. Now, someone like dwill for example gets more money waiting especially if he stays with the nets. Your not talking a few million. Your talking 30 million dollar loss for dwill to go somewhere else and sign if he wants to leaves

So, the old CBA would of given 5 years at 99 million for teams on max deals, but if the player stayed put with current team, they got 106 million over 6 years. Now, A player can only sign with a new team for 4 years with a max of 74 million. Stay put and get 101 million over 5.

Now you see why Paul wants to be traded somewhere to stay (Knicks as an example). Howard and Dwill have not really shown signs of money being issue ( not that they would probably want max deals also). Most extensions as well are less than what the 74 million are for some players (why dwill did not extend, would you take 3 years 57 million when you could make 4/74 or 5/101???)

I actually think that's an excellent fit. I didn't think they could pull it off, but if they do..

Ehh. I live here  in ATL and watched nearly every game. Dude is unreliable in the playoffs. He goes ICE cold. 39% shooting from the floor last postseason and 36% in the postseason the year before that. On top of that, he's a black hole. 30 MPG, not even 3 APG.

We'll see though. He's obviously an upgrade to Bogans.

Terrico White, we hardly knew ya. Via his Twitter page:
Just got the news from @detroitpistons that they letting me go. Really didn’t get a chance because of injury. Putting it in God hands now.

Smh. Terrico is very talented and he really reminds me of a poor man's Dwyane Wade. He's got all the tools you need to become a good perimeter player. Basically, he has everything that Derozan has except Terrico's jumper is better.
