Built a decent amount of muscle last couple of months and have taken steps to drastically lower cals and up the amount of cardio to lose this weight/fat. Any advice on retaining most of my muscle gains? Hit PR on DL today too

Waste of what time? A single conversation on her CHEATING on him after a 2.5 year long relationship isn't worth it?  Not suggesting sweating her but have the cojones to let her know she can't disrespect you and walk away clean without a confrontation.

I didn't suggest sweating her. Voicing his opinion on her lack of respect for him is what I suggested. If you can end a relationship without any sort of conformation after 2.5 year, you my dude were wasting your time even before she cheated. Where's you sense of self respect man?

She cheated! Whatever she has to be angry about can't trump that. Personally, letting her know she's a POS is my definition of closure.
