I don't often make the turn, but I've sorta flipped on the SBB 3.0 after seeing them in hand. At least the 1 pair I saw looked much less wrinkly in person, definitely shiny, but the sides were less garbage bag. Actually really liked the crinkled look on the toe box, reminded me of the old Huf SB...

Broke out the ‘85’s today.

I’ve seen both styles of R on authentic J1’s obtained at retail. Don’t think this is a decent authenticity check anymore. Likely has more to do with the factory/mold being used on the sole. Wouldn’t write a pair off over this.

The royal laces on ‘85’s just age into a faded purple. The red laces in ‘85 breds tend to turn orange.

Personally I think they have some of the best material of any of the remastered retros. The red leather is pretty unique. Haven’t felt anything like it on any other Jordan shoe. Black parts are plastic, but swoosh on the 85 was too.

I know I’ll probably catch some hate for this, but I caught too many L’s on the unions. Copped both sets of laces from Slickies laces. The gold are a little long for my 9.5, but I’m loving the look of both in these. Gym reds are very underrated IMO, and that’s coming from someone who already...

I find it pretty funny that for the gym red release youth pairs came with a lace bag that would clearly be deemed fake on a men’s size pair haha.

The shine on the black parts of the gym red pair has literally nothing to do with “quality” of leather. It’s a coating applied with the paint. If you take the time to push on the black leather of the gym reds you’d see it’s great quality. There’s some soft give to it, but still feels sturdy and...

Hate to be one of those guys, but people are gonna regret sleeping on the gym reds. Real nice in person. Happy to not take an L for a change too.

What makes that extra weird is the pair they show on the site has a scuff on the yellow part haha. Feel like they’d have to reject a lot of pairs over that.

Mine doesn't have quite that much space, but on my stockX pair one of the shoes in the pair has a space like that, and the other doesn't. Just bad QC. Not the first pair I've had with an issue like that.

I think this is the first time I've seen them referred to as Reverse Chi's, can't believe I didn't see it, and dammit it's a nickname that makes sense haha. They're growing on me... though I'd prefer a blue version like on the old '85 sample page.
