Most probably think this is a homer post, but i follow the NL east religiously..

The shortshops in that division are absoultely amazing.. Hanley, Rollins, Reyes, Esco.. all will be all stars for years to come

IMO escobar is the most complete out of the 4.. That kid brings so much to the game

He can hit for power, average, hit the ball opposite field, pull the ball, he can bunt, great patience..

fielding wise he has many gold gloves ahead of him, his range is UNBELIEVABLE... to go along w/ the strongest infield arm in the league.. Soon he will bementioned in the same class as hanley..

Watch his game if havent had a chance... he wont disappoint

I'd take him 4th. 3rd at best.

He's probably top7 in the mlb though

Hanley isn't that nice in the field tho...

he's not a liabilty like some make him out to be... But Yunel is MUCH better than Hanley in the field.. its not even close

Esco...

If MLB.com wasn't such a @+!%$ (and they weren't so damn quick to wipe videos off Youtube), I'd go find those two absurd bare-handed plays he madeearlier in the week...

And Hanley is MUCH better with the bat.

Yunel is very good and I've been a fan of his for a while but it's foolish to say you'd take him over Hanley. Hanley is the best SS in the game andwill be unless he moves to 2b or of within the next 5 years.

Not really.

The gap between their defensive abilities is exponentially wider than their offensive abilities.

Strictly speaking on what they can do at the plate, there isn't much of a difference. The fact that Hanley is so much faster is where the separation comesfrom; he can get hits that Escobar can't.

exactly..

hanley is hitting .346 15 hrs 62 rbi's... compared to .310 11hrs and 57 rbi's... thats not that big of a gap, especially considering how fast hanley isas KLJ already mentioned..

Hanley is the better fantasy player.. Yunel is the better baseball player

UZR rates Hanely as a better defender this year. Hanley also a year younger, a lot more consistent, a better base stealer and hits for more power

Rollins is the worst of NL east SS

Hanley > Yunel > Reyes > Rollins

Guzman doesn't count.

You're an idiot because this conversation is about the best shortstops in the NL East.
