Going to Detroit with friends for the first time at end of next month for Pistons game Fri night and then Red Wings game next evening. We'll be arriving the Thurs night before game and already got reservations for Mootz that evening. Staying at Hotel Indigo and have heard Corktown is pretty lively so we may hit up the bars/lounges there one night. Also thinking of doing Fowling on Friday or Saturday before one of the games. Anyone have recs for bars/breweries, food, things to see in dtown during the day, brunch spots?

I heard good things about Second Place and Harry's which are nearby Little Caesars Arena so may hit one or both before the games.

You might be thinking of Second Best? Its a cool little dive bar, across the street from Grey Ghost which I believe is owned by the same people. Mad Nice was a busy brunch spot when I was there last year. Right behind Mootz is the alley called the Belt, and it has some bars and shops there like Standby (dark speakeasy type place) and the Skip. Townhouse, Shinola Hotel, Hopcat Brewing, Selden Standard, The Whitney, Detroit Shipping Company. Midnight Temple is my homie's Indian Restaurant in Eastern Market, if you like Indian food.

Detroit Institute of Arts is pretty cool if you're into art museums. Guardian Building has a bad *** art deco lobby if you're into architecture.

Heading to anchorage, AK March 19th to the 23rd. Anyone here ever been there? I need some recommendations for sightseeing and maybe a little nightlife. This will be a solo trip as it has been a bucket list of mine for some time. I looked into some touristy things but i wanted to see if anyone firsthand has been here or had a good experience. thanks!

Thinking about going to Switzerland in the summer for two weeks with my wife. Any thoughts?

Man WHAT? Did they tell you why?

What's MPC? :nerd:

Yeah, you need a clean record to get Global Entry. Even if the issue was minor or happened a long time ago, it still matters. I even tried to appeal, no luck.

I have security clearance from Homeland Security for work, plus TSA PreCheck and everything, but they still denied me.

Anybody looking for an alternative, check out MPC (Mobile Passport Control). It’s an app approved by U.S. Border Control that helps speed up the entry process. It works at 33 airports and 4 cruise ports, including locations in Dubai, Aruba, Canada, Bermuda, and the Bahamas.

That sucks and doesn't make much sense considering your other credentials but such is life. Glad there's alternatives.

I was surprised at how fast we got approved. The "interview" was 3-5 min. We got approval emails before we finished walking out of the airport  I thought it would take at least 3 weeks.

I really need to go to banff or somewhere similar

I had a trip to London booked in January but I changed it to late April/May but I honestly don’t even feel like going :lol I need to figure it out

Have a friend who got caught with a fake in undergrad - she can never get Global or precheck 😂😂😂
