young thug... Barter 6 out.

It's all about branding. Thug just needs another Nicki feature or mixtape with Drake :rolleyes

So Future hasn't sold his soul already? Thug is a weird dude but he runs with killers so him in dresses and nail Polish is all a farce. Nobody cared when David Bowie did it but I digress. It's not a good look but that's what he does and it doesn't affect me any and is not on my mind when I'm LISTENING to him. It's like some of y'all dudes so homophobic you think you're gonna start liking male pee-pee if you listen to him. The dude got 6 kids with like 4 baby mamas. Don't know why people can't separate the trolling from the music.

It's kind of hard to separate it when he's calling little boys sexy on Instagram. He doesn't know what going to far is, but then again he can't even give an interview without massa

Yeah, Thug is an absolute troll. Been telling dudes for the longest that there is nothing gay at all about him :lol.

He pretty much just turnt up a notch watch Lil B was doing on social media....and combined that attention (negative or positive) with absolute undeniable bangers. B was rocking women's jewlery, blouses, tiny pants & had an album named "I'm Gay". Problem is, he was before his time....and wasn't as consistent. He never broke into the mainstream.

If Thug wasn't as eccentric as he is, he'd be a Kcamp level artist. You combine his raw talent + weirdness + trolling + street ties + androgyny + mystique.....you get an artist that people can't help but pay attention to in some way.

Idk why people think dudes like migos or young thug will sell big units. Won't happen, their music isn't popular to that demographic right now. Future ain't start moving big units until he started messing with the biggest pop star on the planet not named Kanye. These dudes audience is more the street crowd... And them ****** ain't buying no damn album. It still blows my mind how fetty tricked all these white folks to let their kids sing trap queen on YouTube [emoji]128514[/emoji]. That Taylor Swift Co sign is the goat.

point is he's begging for futures so called crowd/fanbase

he's not tailoring his sound or style for the streets

nobody is homophobic and apparently nobody's really buying his music either

I'm ****phobic

and I've said many times I don't mind his music

didn't even call him gay anyway, his actions are just inexcusable

Dudes acting like fam legitimately promoted the "album", dude was calling it a mixtape from the jump.

Them numbers seem shaky to me, if Future rly moved that many units w/o a single, promotion, and no physical copies fam damn near on Cole level

Dudes just sound dumb discussing his sexuality.

Lol did someone really just suggest his pecerception as a homosexual as one of the reasons for his low sales?
Yes. If you ever browse other music forums with a larger population such as KTT you will see that many bigots perceive him as gay and refuse to listen to his music because of it. Hell just look at his IG and you'll see tons of comments calling him gay, f-word, ... His antics piss off a lot of people. Not Thug's fault though, he is who he is and he should be respected as such.

Whether he's really gay or not is irrelevant to me, personally I don't think he is, but the public perception of his antics is definitely hurting his career.

I don't think he'll ever become a mainstream star because his music definitely isn't for everyone but I do believe his fanbase would be bigger if there weren't so many homophobes who refuse to listen to his music because of how they perceive him.

I'm not saying it's the sole reason for low sales, the terrible promotion and project rollout plays a much larger role.

After reading that I now appreciate them rapping on this, they could've saved showing their pics tho. Thug still killed this joint.

Interesting. So youre telling me young thug is the only entertainer/athlete in the 21st century where being gay works AGAINST their success? Funny. Frank Ocean said he like boys and his fanbase tripled over night

It seemed that way but really after frank ocean did that he faded into obscurity

Yall comparing Ocean coming out the closet in a much softer genre vs Thug who maybe gay in a much rougher genre that has a history of being homophobic...how could you think thats gon help Thug? He is who he is. I dont agree or like his antics but as long as he keeps the sus stuff outta his songs then im good

he doesn't seem to be catering to a gay fanbase tho

like a lady gaga or macklemore

thugs **** just comes off as awkward

I know a white girl from the shoreline in CT who just posted his pic on IG, guess it was part of her 23rd Birthday. She saw Taylor Swift literally front row over the summer also.

Yea Fetty got the juice. Wonder how much he made money wise just off that track.

If being the first openly gay athlete in the HISTORY of major professional sports, Having your jersey sell out despite being a journeyman with a career average of 2 points a game, being named by a time as one of the most influential people in the world, a book deal, and being considerd a hero by millions of people...

Means notoriety for "15 minutes" to you...then ok.

But please explain to me how that would be counterproductive for them?

You dudes get so lost in trying to make one-off points that you lose sight of the original topic. I said name someone who took an L by being gay...you dudes said jason collins and michael sam.

Im simply asking you to explain to me how coming out put them in WORSE positions than they were in prior to coming out.

Maybe you can argue Sam, because he got so famous so fast he went crazy. But even still, im sure becoming an instant celebrity came with some monetary benefit.

Being gay wasn't Jason Collins craft, playing basketball was. He was a journeyman for 11 seasons consecutively. Once he came out he couldn't get a contract for about 5 months. Wouldn't even get invited to work out facilities. Finally got a contract but it's on a 10 day basis. If him coming out minimized his basketball play, that falls under counterproductive.

Hiphop is a different beast when it comes to homosexuality, are you disagreeing with that?

That was a well written post. I agree with most of what you're saying and you're right this is a sign of things to come.

However I don't believe this is the first time you heard about hiphop being homophobic.

That "mob" thing :lol :lol you could tell they had clearly watched a Sopranos episode for the first time, or Casino
