It' really sucks that he prolly won't wrestle again. I feel like he was on the rise to be that next big baby face and was finally getting that big push. Hope everyone learned a lesson from that and knows not to be throwing those damn head butts like that.

Swags said it best, something has to change with the stiff style of Japanese/Shoot wrestling because at this point it is ending careers. It isn't just a head issue, because you have to look at the effects the grueling schedules and physicality of the sport puts on the body. The addictions to pain killers and substance abuse is I am sure due in part to this.
I am not saying turn it into NFL football or something like that because what makes it so entertaining IS the element of danger, why would we try so hard to emulate it growing up if we didn't enjoy that. However, we at the same time have to realize these are human beings with lives that matter and there should be some sort of standard for safety, and if that means working less stiff or doing away with certain maneuvers, so be it.
I am certainly saddened by the loss of Shibata, because he really did pay his dues, but he worked a style that is punishing and performed some moves that just were not wise to keep performing over and over again for the sake of a spot and some storytelling.

Christian won a world title shortly after Edge retired. 2011? It was a very short run. I believe lost it to Orton maybe?
Monty Brown. Wow. He came in with that awful jazz music and then left to take care of family after someone got sick or passed away or something.
