This Bryan is Christian in only terms of being able work matches with anybody. I always looked at Bryan as a more engaging version of Benoit, and CM Punk as a Jericho who the WWE trusts and respects more.
Pretty much. Dude has the diving headbutt, suicide dive through the middle ropes, German suplex, and the crossface.
Make-A-Wish visit from Bad News Barrett goes poorly
January 12, 2014
Bad News Barrett’s involvement with the Make-A-Wish Foundation was a bad idea in hindsight.
The Make-A-Wish Foundation issued an apology today it became clear that sending Bad News Barrett to visit a sick child in hospital had not been properly thought out.
“In hindsight, we realize it was not a good idea,” said Randall McPherson, a spokesperson for the Make-A-Wish Foundation.
Professional wrestlers have a long history of granting wishes for sick children through the foundation, and popular stars like John Cena have brightened the lives of hundreds of ill children.
But sending Bad News Barrett, a British pessimist who doesn’t sugarcoat the harsh realities of life, did not result in a happy occasion for nine-year-old Timmy Lawrence.
Barrett began the visit by pounding a gavel against the armrest of Timmy’s wheelchair, demanding decorum, and gruffly declaring: “I’m afraid I have some bad news for you.”
Barrett then spent the next 15 minutes outlining the harsh realities of Timmy’s prognosis, the enormous financial burden his hospitalization is putting on his parents, the unpleasant side-effects of his medication, and other pieces of unwelcome prognostication.
Barrett was eventually escorted out of the room when Timmy began crying.
To make it up to Timmy, the Make-A-Wish Foundation promised a visit from John Cena, but this only made the boy cry harder until the offer was changed to a visit from Daniel Bryan.
Guess I'm in the minority that finds Ryback on commentary corny and unentertaining.
I like his character, he reminds me of a super villain who always fails.

There he won the ROH World Heavyweight Championship and also the ROH Tag Team Championship, twice. Punk was one of the first ever ROH head trainers, this position is highly regarded at ROH. Daniel Bryan was also one of them.
9. CM stands for…
Many people have always wondered that what does Phillip Jack Brooks’ ring name initials stand for. Many have considered them to be ”Cookie Monster” or “Cookie Master,” because of his childhood love for cookies, others though of: Charles Montgomery, Chuck Mosley, Crooked Moonsault, Charles Manson or Chicago Made. It actually stands for “Chick Magnet,” as revealed by Punk himself in an interview to IGN.com, he got this name when he filled in for a wrestler who didn’t show up at a small wrestling federation event.
8. Emotional final ROH match
Final ROH match
After a WWE try out, Punk signed for his current company in June 2005. Before leaving ROH, he won the ROH World Championship, despite being signed by the WWE. His last ROH match took place at Punk: The Final Chapter on August 13, 2005 against his long time friend and former tag-team partner, Colt Cabana. It was a two out of three falls match that he lost. After the match, Punk was crying in middle of the ring with streamers showered all over him.
7. Had a stint in TNA
This happened in 2004, when some ROH stars also wrestled in NWA: TNA simultaneously. During this time, Punk appeared in TNA for a few times, as a member of Raven’s stable named “The Gathering.” Punk left after the performers were told that they cannot wrestle in any other organization as long as they are in TNA.

CM Punk gangster
Many of you know might know that Punk was one of those many vintage gangsters in John Cena‘s WrestleMania 22 entrance, but who knew that this guy who is currently performing in Cena’s entrance would later defeat him in many historic main event matches for the WWE Championship?!
5. Memorable OVW debut
Punk’s WWE tryout match against Val Venis on May 9, 2005 wasn’t a happening one, but his first OVW televised match against Danny Inferno on September 26, 2005 definitely was. During the match, he suffered a ruptured eardrum and a broken nose. Despite, the stiff shots from Inferno, Punk completed the match and was taken to the hospital after it. Definitely, a ‘bloody’ memorable television debut match for Punk.
4. Relationships with multiple divas
Lita & Punk
Punk is definitely a “chick magnet,” that’s the reason why he has had relationships with 6 different wrestling divas during his wrestling career till date. These include Shannon Spruill, Tracy Brookshaw (both ROH), Maria Kanellis (OVW and WWE), Amy “Lita” Dumas, Beth Phoenix and currently AJ Lee (all WWE), out of all of them Lita and Punk indeed made the best couple. Only time will tell how well it goes with AJ Lee.
3. Straight edge and pescetarian
It’s a known fact that Punk is a straight edge, his whole persona is based on it, he even led a stable called the Straight Edge Society. Apart of being a straight edge, Punk is also a pescetarian, i.e. when it comes to non-veg food, Punk sticks to only seafood, and no other animal’s flesh. Punk, definitely has a very unusual sort of a lifestyle, in fact he is everything unusual, he doesn’t drink, he doesn’t smoke, and when it comes to non-veg food, eats only seafood (no flesh of other animals), but in the end his lifestyle is healthy in every way.

1. His first theme song wasn’t for him
CM Punk made his WWE debut to the theme song called “This Fire Burns” by Killswitch Engage on August 1, 2006, a song which was first used by Randy Orton for just one night, March 3, 2006. The theme song definitely didn’t suit Orton and because WWE didn’t want to waste the rights bought for that music, they decided to use it for Punk’s entrances, and luckily it suited him and he went on to use it until the 2011 Money in the Bank where he won the WWE Championship from John Cena and ran away with the title. Next night on Raw, he returned with a new entrance theme called “Cult of Personality” by Living Colour, a song which he also used during his time at the ROH.
