Wrestling Thread Dec 31-Jan 13 | 1/13 TNA Genesis PPV |

Classic Rumble moment since the Rumble is only a couple weeks away.

WWE might as well make ROH a developmental territory.

- Tyson Kidd is expected to be out of action for 10-12 months according to a report by PWInsider.com.

Details are still slim on exactly when injury had occurred, but Kidd suffered a fractured knee and a torn ACL over the holiday house show loop.

- Because they have done the DX reunion so many times, WWE officials have discussed doing an Evolution reunion, possibly at the RAW 20th Anniversary show next week. With Triple H, Ric Flair and Randy Orton already in the building, the main issue would be getting Batista to come back for one night.

- Regarding The Rock winning the WWE Title from CM Punk, there is a lot of talk that the title change won’t happen at the Royal Rumble. Instead, Rock would win the title at the Elimination Chamber pay-per-view in the Chamber main event.

I hope they do an Evolution reunion. It would be great to see Batista back.

I don't care what anybody says, Ultimate Warrior was that dude. My 1st favorite wrestler :hat

All time great.

Hopefully him & the WWE can put their differences aside and induct him into the HOF.

Imagine a Punk/Warrior promo?!?

You know Warrior would take a shot at Hogan.

Major Change to TNA Business

--TNA is completely revamping how it does PPVs.  They are now going to cut back to only four shows per year as live PPVs, Genesis on 1/13, Lockdown on 3/10, Slammiversary on 6/9 and Bound for Glory on 10/13.  To fulfill contracts, they are going to tape three hour shows and air them as monthly PPV shows on the first Friday night of each month.  This lowers the expense, eliminating having to buy satellite time and other costs of a live production.  Basically it is an acknowledgment that the PPV business the way they've been doing it is not cost effective.  It's one thing to cut back from 12 shows to 10, but this is a major step backward as far as ability to compete at the major league level, but obviously one brought upon by financial realities.

Legends May Not Be Brought in for 20th Anniversary of Raw

--As of right now, Bret Hart won't be on the 20th anniversary of Raw.  There was talk about the possibility of him being brought in for the show, but he was given word they decided against it.  He will be next appearing for WWE in Phoenix for the Fan Fest with the Survivor Series 1997 topic of discussion the day before the Royal Rumble with Shawn Michaels and Jerry Lawler.

--Others who were at least told to keep the date of Monday open have said they were told the creative direction for Monday was changed and they were not going to bring stars back.  It may have just been told to cancel them or just give them word they weren't needed, it may be only one or two people are being brought back rather than a big number, or a fullscale change in direction.

--Last word is they are still scheduled to have a Ric Flair and CM Punk confrontation.

Speaking of TNA Brian Cage will have his Gutcheck on IMPACT tonight. I run into him often as he's a local guy. He's been beasting at the gym & told me he's more than ready for this. Brian's a good guy, and Kurt Angle is really high on him. Hopefully, things work out for him tonight.

So does this mean TNA is done with regular tv?  I give TNA another couple of years before Vince buys them out.

They will still be on regular TV, most likely taped tho.

Dixie Carter has no idea what she's doing. Had high hopes for them to give WWE some competition :{

Jay Bradley, the former Ryan Braddock in WWE will also be on gutcheck tonight.

Gonna be really interested tonight to see how two indy guys work together when they're trying to make themselves look good against the other trying to get this contract.

The guy he's facing, Jay Bradley, has been around for a long, long time, and has been a member of Aces & 8's at one point.

He did leave behind the world's greatest titantron though

- The Royal Rumble is completely sold-out at the moment.

New tickets may open up closer to the event after WWE configures the arena for production needs, but no tickets are currently available on Ticketmaster.

The Rumble sell-out is the latest confirmation of Rock's drawing power. It follows Monday's Raw in Tampa, Fla. being sold out for Rock's WWE return and Raw delivering its highest rating since August against the second-largest cable TV audience ever for the BCS National Title game.
