No one would benefit from beating Taker though, cos the writers would screw them over a couple weeks later. Definitely not worth breaking the streak now

Is Punk one of the only guys allowed to speak freely like that and criticize what's wrong with the company nowadays? Seems like something Vince would hate but Punk gets a pass. It'd be nice if other guys could speak about stuff like that. It seemed like what he said last night confused a lot of the little kid cena fans and other fans. They couldn't process what he was saying.

That's what I said..The writers CANNOT turn the UT's streak ending into a long term positive for anyone on the roster..Let's look at the candidates..
Punk-The man has been champ for over a year and if that's not enough to make him "the man" then beating UT isn't going to do it either..
Cena-Is so insanely over with the kids and nerds that he can lose to the Rock, be the first to not win on his MITB cash in match, lose to Punk, get man handled by a returning Brock, and still is the number 1 guy..So snapping the streak does nothing for him..
Ziggler-So let's say he's the guy to do it..Then what?..The man has been getting served by Cena left and right..Get's his finishers kicked out of repeatedly..And has had to do so many jobs over the last year that it just isn't believable that he can beat UT..
Barrett-This one probably makes the most sense style wise..He's big, strong, and has the look of a legit threat to UT..But what has he really done?..He wins the IC belt and then they put him in a Raw match with Santino?..Doesn't sound like they're too confident in him at this point in time..
Orton-They can't let a dude who's one puff away from having his services terminated that they'd really let him win..Besides he's already done the job to UT at WrestleMania..
Kane-I've always heard that Taker wants Kane to be the one to end the streak..But it literally serves no purpose what so ever..He won't be WHC or WWE champ..He won't be the main event anytime soon..And his career is on the downside too..Not gonna happen..
Big Show-Nope..
Miz-He'll be in TNA before he gets to headline a WM again..This is a big no too..
So who's left that could get a legitimate benefit from ending one of the most important storylines in WWE's history?..

Whoever it is does not need to beat Taker, the match just needs to be epic and he will be a bigger star just by that alone.

Yea I wouldn't mind Punk facing Taker at Mania for the title (retaining against the Rock), but there's no reason to end the Streak. There's just no one who would substantially benefit from it. At all

The stadium The Rock played college football at (the Orange Dome) is gone and the WWE that The Rock used to wrestle for is gone too. At the Royal Rumble, Punk is going to show The Rock that you can never go home.
* The Rock comes out for a promo. Flo Rida is in the house. The Rock is back on The Rock’s show, SmackDown. Rock talks about his college football days. Damien Sandow and Cody Rhodes come out. They say they are going to be champions soon and The Rock doesn’t deserve this time. Rock says Cody has a dead caterpillar on his lip and makes fun of his lisp. Sandow has a wager for The Rock. Sandow says if Rock can answer 3 questions, he can stay. If not he leaves. Rock says bring it. Question 1 – who was the 19th US president. Rock says Rutherford B Hayes, *****. Cody asks what movie won Best Picture in 1993. Rock says Schindlers List & he’s right again. Question 3 – Rock says now it’s his turn to ask a question. What happens when you combine a geological aggregate of minerals with its lowest form. Sandow says that’s easy – you get Rock Bottom. Rock grabs him and gives him a Rock Bottom! Cody gets in Rock’s face and gets a spine buster and then a People’s Elbow. Rock celebrates.
