Wrestling Thread Apr 29 - May 12 | 5/11 All Time Great Kenta Kobashi's Final Match

The biggest show of the weekend is in Japan, with the end of the career of Kenta Kobashi, in a show Saturday at Budokan Hall in Tokyo. Unlike most retirements in wrestling which are gimmicks, Kobashi really has been retired for some time and this is more official ceremonial. I've been studying back on Kobashi's career this past week and you can argue where he places on the list of all-time greats, but there is no argument he's high on the list, particularly inside the ring. He's also as gutsy a performer as there has been, coming back from more surgeries than perhaps any wrestler in history, as well as from cancer. The main event is Kobashi & Jun Akiyama & Keiji Muto & Kensuke Sasaki as the surviving legends of the 90s against KENTA & Go Shiozaki & Yoshinobu Kanemaru & Maybach Taniguchi, who are all wrestlers who Kobashi helped start out.
Son, did you just decide to basically copy & paste the Friday update on f4wonline.com or nah?

Anyways, the show ended and Johnny Ace appeared VIA satellite.
Maybe you should put on your sunglasses and give us a breaking news video update on the match.

While were on the topic of Kobashi, here's his match with Samoa Joe from ROH. Received a 5 star rating from Meltzer

- Powerlifter Adam “Big Country” Scherr has reportedly signed a deal with WWE. At the Arnold Classic earlier this year, Scherr told RXMuscle.com that he was negotiating with WWE and what they were offering was way better than what the Strongman competitions pay. At the Arnold Classic, Scherr suffered a bicep injury. Here are two photos of the 6 foot 7, 375lbs. Scherr:

*still beats Ziggler and Cesaro*

--At the Smackdown show last night in Odessa, TX, they announced at the beginning of the show that Dolph Ziggler wouldn't be there due to a concussion.  It got booed by the fans but there's really no choice in the matter from a company standpoint.  There are no estimates on when he'll be back other than when he can pass testing.  They had a double main event with Randy Orton beating Big Show and Alberto Del Rio (who was to face Ziggler) beating Jack Swagger in a street fight.

No One Lives from WWE debuted at $45,900 (on 53 screens).  Even on only 53 screens, that's a pathetic #.

It was a cool match. I never thought it was 5* star. But it was cool
From a wrestling standpoint, it was a solid 3.5/5. The slow pace is keeping it from getting a higher score, but that's just me.

In my opinion, the crowd made this match. It was wild, especially in that small venue.

He sbould be the powerhouse of the Wyatt family.

Would make sense based on the look but the guy is injured and most likely needs seasoning. Wyatt family will be called up shortly. Stable has too much potential to stay in NXT for long.
