Again, wrestling is more than just good matches.

There are DOZENS of good matches each month. Nobody gets off to that.

If this unknown dude keeps outshining ANYONE he is in the ring with, people will eventually start wondering, "Why isn't HE in the title picture."

Nobody has been able to keep up with him in his AEW appearances.

SMART booking wouldn't put him in the ring vs. your biggest stars if you AREN'T going to be booking him to the moon.

He made Hangim look regular days before his world title fight vs. Punk.

He will do the same to MOxley in a few days.
I don’t think it hurts anyone there are plenty of fans who enjoy good matches over the other stuff myself included. But by your own admission wrestling is more than just matches to a lot of people. It’s hard for me to believe that causal fans are gonna all of the sudden think that konosuke should be beating wardlow Danielson etc because he wrestled mox and hangman and Eddie and lost all 3 conversely fans who like matches are loving this ****… no one loses here and he gets more over every time

Never said he should be beating them.

EYE don't think he should be wrestling those dudes in the first place.

also, Casual fans ain't watching damn AEW man.

Even the die hard AEW-ites will eventually want the outsider to get a stronger push.

We can wait and see though.

Your women's champion being featured on a Youtube show. :smh:

Thunder Rosa being treated as an afterthought no wonder she is pissed with her booking.

Britt Baker was all the Dynamites and Rampages when she was champion.

If casuals aren’t watching AEW you can’t be questioning whether they properly introduced the Briscoes to their audience… I’m just saying konosuke having good matches hurts no he’s just getting more over

Haven’t watched NXT in a bit. Jordan Devlin and Katie Cannazaro both got new names?

A good commentator announces as if someone new is tuning into your telecast. So when new people show up, you SHOULD be explaining who they are.

Luring in casuals has been a thorn in AEW's side. The numbers say that and even Tony has admitted so.

but that doesn't mean your commentating team should treat the listening audience as if they know everything already.

Both things can be true.

Re: Outsider

I just don't see the point in putting someone in matches with your top stars if that person will outshines them in every bout. If you aren't going to give them the green light, don't constantly put them in featured bouts. If giving good matches is your goal, there are plenty of midcarders he can out-wrestle. I think that's basic booking logic.

“It’s just wrestling.”

Honestly that just seems like nitpicking I don’t need every detail explained to make the show work wrestlers challenged wrestlers to a match works for me

The point is he’s getting over and he’s putting on good matches. What else matters? You can say a lot of things about AEW but they’ve been more than successful with getting people over and making their own stars

You can call it nitpicky but that is simple sports commentary procedure. Educate the fans that don't tune in every week on who/what they are seeing. Jim Ross, Lance Russell, Jim Cornette, Joey Styles, Mike Tenay have all said this at one point or another. Stop assuming the audience knows who these folks are. That was A reason as to why the BUILD (the BUILD) of Forbidden Door was as weak as it was. New folks popping up and not being given context to the viewing audience. "Look, it's Hiromu!!!!"

re: Take

I don't believe it should start and end with good matches. So we can agree to disagree on the, "What else matters" approach.

Again,, that IS why AEW is hurting when it comes to growing their audience.

Some of the stuff was Vader’s own fault, but if Vader never feuds with HBK, he’s more than likely booked correctly, at least for a awhile. The HBK feud completely nuked his stay there as HBK acted like a ***** during that feud crying to Vince all the time.

The Kliq broke this man

I always love the verbiage basement dweebs like that use. "That's all you need to know about Vince & co"

Do wish Vader had a better run though.
