In ring ability ability to sell merch and promo work (with the exception of Finn) are all main event level. I’m not sure what you would say is missing?

So, I already mentioned the bar is at it's lowest it has EVER been when it comes to who is/isn't allowed to be placed in the main event setting. So sure, those people COULD main event given PPVs buys don't matter since the Network was created but that shouldn't be confused with them actually Main Event Level talent.

For the record, I don't think "In-ring ability" really matters when it comes to making someone a Main Event talent.
In WWE; Charisma, Mic WOrk, aura (having the IT), and size matter much more than ability to perform a Dragon Screw LEgwhip.

Cody CAN be pushed to reach that level. He isn't there YET but maybe he can one day.
Finn just doesn't have it and his weak promo doesn't help him by any stretch.
Edge is old, skinny, and has a pencil neck. (Being injury prone is the reason Dolph isn't trusted, so YES it matters)

So, I don't think ANY of them are "OBVIOUS MaiN Eventers" by any stretch.

I respectfully disagree on in ring skill this isn’t the 80s so the bar in the ring has been raised to a fairly high level. I would say that the wrestlemania main event from 2 years ago illustrates that even for WWE who purposely prevents their wrestlers from doing Indy or AEW style spots in the undercard.

Roman fits 2 of your given criteria IMO (size and aura). The rest was booked into existence until people believed he was the total package. I think every one I named is capable of the same. You are how you’re booked. I choose to look beyond that. The “WWE mold” you speak of is a self imposed prison.

I am not saying you should be as bad technically as OMOS, but you can surely be a WWE MaiN Eventer while being slightly above average in the ring if all the other boxes are checked. (See Roman)

In ring ability isn't near the top of the list of what makes a WWE Main Eventer.

Now, if we were discussing AEW/NJPW that would be a different story.

But in WWE, being a GOOD wrestler isn't needed.

No argument there but Cody and Edge check every box. Edge has already proven it. I’m not a WWE fan either but if you’re booking any one of them worse than you’re booking someone like Lashley or Madcap you’re doing something very wrong but honestly IC level shouldn’t be an insult but now it is

Well, I also believe the IC Title shouldn't be viewed the way it is currently viewed.
I stupidly still want to view it as the Workhorse title of the early 90s.

Based on historical relevance and being a HOF'er; Edge could be brought in to compete at a high level but I think a damn near 50 year old being able to compete with your current stars says a LOT of the lack of tender love and care you have given your roster. Edge should NOT be able to come in and realistically compete with athletes in their primes. That has always bothered me.

Lashley should have kept MVP as his manager since he lacks mic skills. Lashley would always be in the title picture of MY promotion.

Cody, I would keep as a strong upper mid-card wrestler. But again, in THIS modern WWE era where not too many people have been presented seriously, Cody can flourish.

I don’t see Lashley as a main eventer he would be my Lance Archer but WWE needs to grow with the times their business side is fail proof but i think at some point you reach critical mass and there’s no more veterans to trot out and there’s an entire era of guys who have been booked into dolph ziggler hell

Explain your reasoning please.
He has the perfect “WWE look” but nothing else to speak of. He’s a completely uninspired face and while he’s decent as a menacing bad guy he’s doesn’t have some of the things you need to succeed in that role he’s not particularly intimidating he doesn’t have a memorable finisher Nor does he make you hate him.

This is why Maryse was out there?.
