Wow Kobe was so explosive back then

Enough with the chit chat. More dunks. N's can't even appreciate his dunks without somebody saying something negative. you guys forget how kobe was probably playing his best all around basketball earlier in the season before he got hurt.

I definitely believe that if you start your career earlier, and you consistently move deep in the playoffs, you accelerate your physical 'prime' period and break down at a younger age. I think this is especially true for players whose game relies almost exclusively on their athleticism. Kobe definitely is not the player physically that he was five years ago, but he is skilled enough that his level of play remains more or less the same.

^He's not the same. Stop kidding yourself. This man put up 550 points in 13 games at one time in his career. He put up 4 straight 50 point games in 07. 07 was his last super peak year to me. Again, don't assume I'm saying he isn't good anymore. He still is one of the best players. He was unreal from 04-07. Don't shortchange his individual excellence during that period.

Kobe with the shuffle-crossover and the dunks.

When I saw medvedenko (sp?), dude always seemed so lost on the court with his red face.

Let's not forget that Kobe has played in many, many more games than Vince/Tmac/AI/Stack/etc. For these guys, age isn't as defining as the number of games played is. Kobe has more mileage on his body than any of those guys, and probably more than Tmac and VC combined.
It ain't about age, it's about mileage, games/minutes, etc.  Pdoggy85 hit it right on the head.

i can buy that for now

but its really a theory that hasnt been proven

i think we gotta wait until all of these straight from high school to nba players careers are over to fully decide

i think it has more to do wit age, because the body starts healing and reacting in different ways as you get older.

but there are arguments to prove it.

we'll see what happens to lebron because he's only 25 and i know he's logged major minutes, because hes been starting since day 1

so if this mileage theory is correct he should be breakin down by age 29-30,right?

I agree, I am really interested to see when Bron starts to break down.  He's in good shape so far though in that he's yet to have a real bad injury.

Kobe's had multiple surgeries, a bad shoulder, several fingers, ankle, knee a few times, hand, wrist even when he was still a teenager, and despite all that, still has this much tread.

I think this upcoming year will show us alot.  If he avoids the nagging ones he had this past season and starts to break down further anyways, we'll have our answer.

Bron's minutes/games at (going to be) 26 are FAAAAAR above Kobe's and KG's were.  It'll be real interesting to see how that turns out.

but through 7 seasons, Kobe played in 21 playoff series to lebrons 13
