Someday when the dust settles and people aren't mad anymore, they are going to sit back and MARVEL at what kid has done.  Look at all the guys that been there thru the years, (Shaq, AI, TMac, Vince, Stack, G Hill) they all fall off, and Kobe still sittin there with the elites now (Durant, Melo, Bron, Wade, D12).  Un....real.
smh.gif

If he can hold out for 2 more years and then 2 of those "less than" type years, his career numbers/highlights/achievements are going to be flat out disgusting.

all these dudes are 3-4 years older than kobe though

so thats why they fell off faster

and most of them were all better than kobe during the late nineties so it kind of balances out because he outlasted them at the backend of their careers

and i dont think its fair to say shaqs in kobes generation even though he kind of is,but hes like 7-8 years older than kobe

he definitely the best player of his generation though (well its between him and duncan really)

the only guys from kobes generation who i think should still be in their prime right now along with kobe, are garnett,t-mac,and jermaine oneal because of their age.

but injuries got all of them

AI came in the league the same year as Kobe, TMac and Vince came in AFTER Kobe, Hill came in 2 years before, Stack the year before Kobe, and Shaq was in a good couple years early, yes, and I said in my last post, I hesitated with him.  But Shaq fell off years ago and has been getting passed around the league ever since.  I don't see Kobe getting moved 3-4 times in the next couple years ya know?

Stack was done a few years ago, he has been dominat.  Hill, injuries got him.  TMac and Vince?  Same age as Kobe, or relatively close, and they haven't lasted anywhere close to 10 years in terms of dominance.  So that argument is out the window.

i know all these dudes are in the same generation as kobe-nba wise

i know they all came in right at the same time

but i was saying most of them were a good 3-4 years older than kobe

thats why they degraded a good 3-4 years before kobe

im talkin age here, not seasons in th league.

and thats why i brought up garnett,t-mac,and jermaine oneal because they are within like 1-2 years of kobes age

i was sayin they should still be in their primes like kobe, but injuries got em

but iverson is like 35 years old even though he came in the same year as kobe

so thats why i argued that he was better than kobe earlier on cuz he was older, and now hes worse because he older

get it?

i def. give him his props though,he has been great

My fault.
But I wouldn't be surprise if KOBE starts to decline this season. Three stright years to the finals and he played Olympic ball too.I mean he is only human.
right?

He's not like the Spurs

LAkobe can actually repeat or even threepeat

Let's not forget that Kobe has played in many, many more games than Vince/Tmac/AI/Stack/etc. For these guys, age isn't as defining as the number of games played is. Kobe has more mileage on his body than any of those guys, and probably more than Tmac and VC combined.

i can buy that for now

but its really a theory that hasnt been proven

i think we gotta wait until all of these straight from high school to nba players careers are over to fully decide

i think it has more to do wit age, because the body starts healing and reacting in different ways as you get older.

but there are arguments to prove it.

we'll see what happens to lebron because he's only 25 and i know he's logged major minutes, because hes been starting since day 1

so if this mileage theory is correct he should be breakin down by age 29-30,right?

I went to about 15 Laker home games at Staples this past season and I admit when I see a live game, my eyes are focused solely on Kobe.

Do I think his skill level has degraded since 2005? I actually think the opposite. I think Kobe is more of a complete player and is at the peak of his career right now. Mind you the dude played with a bum knee/broken finger last season so just imagine Kobe without those injuries last season? I give him about 4 more years until we really see his skills degrade.

I agree, I am really interested to see when Bron starts to break down.  He's in good shape so far though in that he's yet to have a real bad injury.

Kobe's had multiple surgeries, a bad shoulder, several fingers, ankle, knee a few times, hand, wrist even when he was still a teenager, and despite all that, still has this much tread.
eek.gif

I think this upcoming year will show us alot.  If he avoids the nagging ones he had this past season and starts to break down further anyways, we'll have our answer.

Bron's minutes/games at (going to be) 26 are FAAAAAR above Kobe's and KG's were.  It'll be real interesting to see how that turns out.

Dude would always get a break away 360 during away games and make it look too easy, now he just does a little two hand slam

Kobe's still got it.. Dude won the NBA finals on 1 knee and a bad finger on his shooting hand.. Just imagine if he was fully healthy..
It's funny that people assume he's gonna be hurt every year now.. The 3 previous seasons before this last he never missed a game..
Like Kobe said "Old? Man I was hurt"..
