Wow Kobe was so explosive back then

Yeah, I wasn't sure on Shaq, but I meant in terms of his peers, begging for work after such incredible careers.  Getting passed around team to team like a jumpoff.  Shaq been on 4 teams in 6 years, and might make it 5 in 7 here pretty soon.  That ain't right.

TMac can't get a job, AI can't, Vince is getting traded all the time since he's a bum, Stack retires and then comes back, stuff like that.

My fault.
But I wouldn't be surprise if KOBE starts to decline this season. Three stright years to the finals and he played Olympic ball too.I mean he is only human.
right?

Lmaooo @ Kobe not in his prime because he can't dunk like that anymore....smh

The first video TC posted I remember vividly, last game of the season that year we didn't make the playoffs. That's why Kobe was pissed

Someone post Kobe on Birdman

For those who remember...The two dunks Kobe did on Doug Christie and the dunk on Yao he was waaaaaaaaaay up there.

He only dunked literally about 5 times through the whole playoffs and they were just normal dunks. He did a nasty one against OKC though. He had a bad knee that he just got surgery on. He'll have a few more posters before his time is up, but the days when Kobe would just %!$+ on everyone are over. He had a few good ones in 2009 so makes me wonder how he will be next year with a good knee.

BTW, that dunk on KG/Wolves that won dunk of decade for the playoffs is so underrated.

mikes athleticism at any age > kobes athleticism at any age

you obviously didnt watch the last three championships

mike was more explosive at ages 33,34,35 than kobe is now at age 31

dont forget he banged on a prime dikembe mutombo at age 34

and dunked from the free throw line at age 34

I agree im just saying diff with kobe is and it shows that he learned from jordan that ok it isnt a need for me to perform death defying jams and moves etc anymore. Im pretty sure he can still get up there and do what it do if needed to be. Im not trying to diss mj by no means, but if you look at his level of competition, and how long he has reigned he is giving mj a run for his money.

I mean look at the competition kobe has faced from his early beginnings until now vs mj. I mean allan houston, glen rice etc were all good competitors, but lets not get carried away and say they = lebron or a dwade lol.

I think kone has atleast 2 or 3 good/great yrs left, then maybe 3 yrs of ok/moderate yrs. I think after about 36-37 he will be about done and be a servicable backup giving 15-20 minutes or so at best.

Shows you where he was then.

Someday when the dust settles and people aren't mad anymore, they are going to sit back and MARVEL at what kid has done.  Look at all the guys that been there thru the years, (Shaq, AI, TMac, Vince, Stack, G Hill) they all fall off, and Kobe still sittin there with the elites now (Durant, Melo, Bron, Wade, D12).  Un....real.
smh.gif

If he can hold out for 2 more years and then 2 of those "less than" type years, his career numbers/highlights/achievements are going to be flat out disgusting.

all these dudes are 3-4 years older than kobe though

so thats why they fell off faster

and most of them were all better than kobe during the late nineties so it kind of balances out because he outlasted them at the backend of their careers

and i dont think its fair to say shaqs in kobes generation even though he kind of is,but hes like 7-8 years older than kobe

he definitely the best player of his generation though (well its between him and duncan really)

the only guys from kobes generation who i think should still be in their prime right now along with kobe, are garnett,t-mac,and jermaine oneal because of their age.

but injuries got all of them

well i dont wanna turn this into a kobe vs mj argument cuz mike has'em beat in every department.

but i mean really mj was the best player in the league ever year from like 89 til 98

and dont forget the insane amount of stuff he did in 88

honestly from his 2nd full season in the league he was in the discussion for best player in the league,he just wasnt racking up titles yet

and the competition he played against is a whole other arguement again.

he played against more all time greats in their prime than kobe, not to mention all the great defenses and teams too

lol lets keep this post on kobes explosiveness though

AI came in the league the same year as Kobe, TMac and Vince came in AFTER Kobe, Hill came in 2 years before, Stack the year before Kobe, and Shaq was in a good couple years early, yes, and I said in my last post, I hesitated with him.  But Shaq fell off years ago and has been getting passed around the league ever since.  I don't see Kobe getting moved 3-4 times in the next couple years ya know?

Stack was done a few years ago, he has been dominat.  Hill, injuries got him.  TMac and Vince?  Same age as Kobe, or relatively close, and they haven't lasted anywhere close to 10 years in terms of dominance.  So that argument is out the window.

i know all these dudes are in the same generation as kobe-nba wise

i know they all came in right at the same time

but i was saying most of them were a good 3-4 years older than kobe

thats why they degraded a good 3-4 years before kobe

im talkin age here, not seasons in th league.

and thats why i brought up garnett,t-mac,and jermaine oneal because they are within like 1-2 years of kobes age

i was sayin they should still be in their primes like kobe, but injuries got em

but iverson is like 35 years old even though he came in the same year as kobe

so thats why i argued that he was better than kobe earlier on cuz he was older, and now hes worse because he older

get it?

i def. give him his props though,he has been great
