I admit, I was addicted once. It was when the Burning Crusade expansion pack came out. Everyday after I got off work, me and my best friend would hop right onthe game and hit a dungeon or a quest or two. I fell asleep ingame so many times

...I'd be up all night on this issh. Crazy.. it took me away fromgirls I was talking to, and my music. The thing that broke me lose is a shady event that got my best friend's character banned for gold hacking orsomething. I didn't feel like starting from new with him again... so I just stopped playing a few days, and played every other day.. then days went toweeks, weeks went to never. I did have a good time though... It was really fun.

The game is hella fun, but not as addicting as people paint it out to be.

I was able to drop it easily, at least.

to NTers that have played it.. whats so addicting about it? i havent played it but i dont see how a video game can be that addicting ..

closest thing was halo 2 .. but thats cause everyone in the dorms was playing it and it only lasted a month or two

I've never played WoW, but I did play Diablo II for 2 years in high school. It's about the community which makes it so interesting thatyou always want to play, similar to how addictive NT is.

Ah, it's actually in reverse? Now it's not as funny... although I'm sure it's happened to many people playing it

I was addicted to a similar game, Phantasy Star Online for Dreamcast. You would just want to level up or find a rare before you logged off, and before you knewit, 9 hours of the day went by.... that was the year I quit the high school baseball team. There went my baseball career

Thats pretty amazing what a game can do.I've been Diablo II free for year half now, but wait till 3 comes out. Going to be liquid crack in disc form allover again.

Nah, Halo is a first person shooter. It has a role it play... kill and get first.. capture the flag, yadda yadda. It get repetitive. Basically, WoW destroysthe reptitiveness factor because it's a role-playing game that constantly expands for you to better yourself, or achieve things other people haven't. Like Halo, you can communicate with others, which also is a big factor. Standard Role-Playing games are usually one player and have an ultimate goal you haveto reach to beat the game. WoW is a MMORPG (Massively Multiplayer Online Role-Playing Game), meaning it has those Role-Playing game elements, but it is onlineand you play with other people. Meaning, it allows you to play together with others, band together in a guild, and literrally, talk to these people everyday. They become your most trusted friends

They are by your side in battle, helping you get a piece of armor you need, or helping you attack opposing playerswho are against your kind. It's really just so many things that factor into the addiction... mainly, the want to better yourself, so you can be strongerand defeat others in battle, or bosses that drop valuable items. It's just a whole 'nother world entirely. You won't really fully understand howit is, until you try it... and then it's got you.

Word, man. And they're pretty smart with the commercials featuring celebs advertising the free trial. I saw a documentary on how a dudekilled himself when he asked a girl in his team out and she said no, it was damn sad. I'm so glad that I haven't owned a video game since the N64 daysin middle school. I actually know someone who's the reverse of this...dude went from a size 30 to 36 in a couple of months from staying in 24/7 playingW.O.W.

I could never see how people get so addicted to this game.

Oblivion > this game and I don't even play video games as frequently anymore..maybe 2-3 hours in a day and I'm cool. Some of these dudes be on therepractically 20+ hours a day.

I forgot, man. It was on late night TV, was just browsing because I couldn't sleep. It was kind of a life story on the kid. He was a lonerin high school, moved out into an apartment afterward to live in isolation. His parents became alarm at how out of touch with society he was. They lostcontact with him for a week or two. They went to his apartment and asked the manager to open it. The guy was dead on his computer desk. It's really sad,but not farfetech at all. (Not picking on anyone in particular)...but if folks on NT can refer to each other by their first name, and have never met him/herin real life...IMO W.O.W. is kinda like that x 1,000.
