I love Mayo, when it's all said and done I think he is going to have the best career out of all of them but he is not the rookie of the year, he can'tbe.

I will say this Kevin Love and Brook Lopez have proved me wrong.

Love is playing a whole hell of a lot more now because Jefferson got hurt though. It opened up opportunites for him.

I don't think it's that much of a reach to say Love could be a Top 5 rebounder in the league next year.

lol, in 2 years

we are talking about now

Ok....Now. How can the leading scorer in the draft class not be in the discussion for rookie of the year. I'm not saying he should win it, but not in the discussion?

you act as if he scoring 25+ a night and even whn he has hadthat many points he had to take 20+ shots to get it

1. Derrick Rose, Bulls: Chicago is seventh in the East with him running the show. Of the other top contenders for this award, Rose is the only one playing meaningful minutes for a team headed to the postseason. (Last week: 1)

2. Brook Lopez, Nets: If he were allowed to vote for ROY, his ballot would have Rose and Russell Westbrook at the top. (Last week: 2)

3. Russell Westbrook, Thunder: He is second among first-year players in assists (5.1), fourth in scoring (15.5) and second in steals. (1.3). (Last week: 3)

4. O.J. Mayo, Grizzlies: His defense is better than most experts figured it would be, he's the top-scoring first-year player by a wide margin and Memphis is riding a four-game winning streak. (Last week: 4)

5. Eric Gordon, Clippers: He gets the nod over Minnesota's Kevin Love because he has been more consistent for a longer period of play. He followed up a forgettable performance against the Nuggets (1-for-10 from the floor, seven points), by posting 24 points, eight rebounds and four assists on the Lakers. (Last week: 5)

and thats how it should play out

Love is already the 2nd best rebounder in the league I he gets consistent playing time you pencil him in for a double double next year.

No doubt

Rose has been the most consistent rookie all season, while Juice has leveled off since January. Westbrook has been a pleasant surprise as well and Gordon isa scoring machine since December.

Rebounding percentage, the percentage of rebounds that he grabs while on the court. Homeboy plays 25 minutes a game and grabs 9.1 boards.

It's basically the the same as rebounding rate.

Michael Beasley...Errbody going based on records, Like when dey say d.wade can't win mvp becuz of his record....so based on records heatsgot a better record then the bulls, so beasley should win...

D.wade should win mvp y? ... Lebron, when lebron goes to the bench who's the next best players who is consistent....Mo williams, Ilgauskas sometimesVarejao...Kobe goes to the bench who's the next best players gasol, odom da hole DAMN roster....D.wade goes to the bench who's the nextconsisent player???? Nobody...lebron & kobe does not have to really score for there team to win, But d.wade has to carry the load....so who'smo

Just because you play more minutes doesn't mean you should get more credit. Rebounding % we can make resonable estimations about how manyreabounds a player would grab if he played the same amount of minutes.

you made my point for me this award isnt about estimations

So i just looked at the stats between Rose, Juice, & Westbrook... yes i know stats dont tell the whole story, but they dont lie for the most part

Between Juice & Rose
DRose has him beat in Assists & Field Goal Percentage... that's it

Juice & WestBrook
Westbrook has him beat in Rebounds & Assists... that's it

I just dont understand how you guys can bring up team success when comparing DRose to Juice... But some of you have Westbrook ahead of Juice, whenWestbrook's team is just as bad as Juice's... And even further take into account that the grizzlies & Thunder play in the Western Conference, wherethe overall level of the teams is much higher than the east top to bottom. So i dont really think we can use team success as that much of a barometer in thesecomparisons

But i'd still put Juice at the very worst, 2nd in the voting, possibly third

It's rose but I had to come in here and show my man eric Gordon some love, after his terrible start to the season he has pretty much beasted the rest ofthe season

what?

Ok fine wrong choice of word about the stat it is not an estimation it is an exact stat.
When Kevin Love is on the court he grabs 20% of all rebounds second highest in the league.
