WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Up Next: Brave New World 02/14/25

^^Well Olsen is confirmed to be in CW so your line up seems wrong already and she's probably gonna be on Cap's side

That team at the end of Avengers was cap's side. At least thats what's being reported. Absolutely no way scarlet witch will be on Stark's side.

Yea sunshine, I was assuming that the lineup at the end was more or less Cap's team with SW, Vision sitting out and War Machine defecting. But it looks like I'm wrong already.

Makes sense. Then you have Tony on one side. Hulk, Thor, Ant Man, War Machine, Wasp, Hawkeye, Black Panther and Spider-Man unaccounted for. I highly doubt that Thor will play any role in this event, just like he didn't in the comics. Not with him having left, Loki on the throne, and Ragnarok coming up. I'd also be fairly surprised if Hulk returned either. Still leaves a decent lineup though.

so tony is bring the house party protocol to fight the new avengers?

Yup, for a while now including he having multi-film contract while AT-J only has a one film deal and why he has been speculated to die in AoU for a long time now.

By the way, this is what Feige had to say about CW back in October:

I don’t want to give too much away, but needless to say, the generalities of the act are the same. Something happens, perhaps it’s cumulative for things that have happened though all of the movies leading up to this point. It has made the governments of the world say “we need to have some oversight of these guys. They need to report to somebody. So it becomes more… it falls under that umbrella, rather than “you have to take off your mask.” It’s not about the secret identity thing, as much as it is about, overall, who reports to who, and who can agree to oversight committee. Because as of now, in Avengers 2, there is no more security council, there is no SHIELD, obviously. Stark is paying for it, Captain America is running it, and things occur that will make governments begin to question.

considering stark has gone against congress in his first 2 movies..

and he goes off on his own in this movie.. and cap and co are setting up the new shield or new avengers.. would cap and co be on the side of the governments

and when they go to stark, stark is like didn't we just go through this with shield.. and cap is like this will be different and blah blah

Vision would have to be in it. Like I said before Caps side is too homogenous as is

An army veteran, a navy veteran, an air force pilot (veteran), and an ex KGB spy. That was the first thing I noticed tbh.
It's part of why I think they took out CM from that scene and replaced her with SW. Because another Air force pilot? It's already overkill as is. SW and Vision are the two unique characters in that team

I hope they at least touch upon the secret identity element on it. Like mention it. Because what purpose does Peter really have in this then if they don't even mention it.

It's difficult to say right now who is siding with the government but if I were to guess it would be Cap.

Caps new group or institution looks very militaristic (always thought that is what he meant by saying he was home in the end, he belongs in a military base) so I would assume that is funded by the government. It might be what they feel is a good replacement for Shield?

I am sure they will re-purpose Spidey in the film, maybe he kind of flips side or can't decide and the war ends with him in the middle, like Ash int he first Pokemon film but obviously not die but just severely hurt and him being a little kid gives a bigger impact? Just brainstorming.

After the events of Cap 2 and Rogers feelings about what freedom is, no way he's on the government's side

Stark is the one who will do whatever he thinks is necessary to protect the world, even if it means to do shady stuff before anything even happens

The scene between them chopping the wood already showed their differences and where they will stand

Considering that from what i've read the plot is dealing with the government's of the world wanting to bring the superheroes under greater control and that Tony stated in this film that Steve leads but he was the one that paid for everything, I don't see Cap being on the side of the government.

Really I think that Winter Soldier should've taught Cap to be somewhat wary of the government and its institutions to some extent.

I'm going to go and say Cap isn't on the govt's side. Based on the issues he had with Fury in Avengers 1 and Cap 2.

Fury isn't with the government now though so i don't know and I am just thinking of who would fund the new Avengers facility, it used to be Stark but he is gone so I assume Cap is on the government side just based on that. Of course I could be totally wrong.

I also see IM not being on the government side after they find out that Ultron was all concocted by him, he has also butted heads with Fury.

I think both sides has a reason to be on the government side or not.

In the comics Cap was working for Shield and when the registration act was proposed he just walked out, why can't he be working for the gov't right up until they propose stricter controls?

Well no one has a problem with that. The discussion is about whose on what side later in the film, once "stricter controls" have been enacted/proposed.

I really think it can be either one.

I also got to put it out there that while Cap hated Shield, it was also controlled by Hydra and int he end of Cap2, the government was questioning Shield/Hydra agents. Weren't they also asking BW where Fury was so by the end of that film Fury wasn't associated with the government anymore and even Coulsons Shield was against the government (being hunted down by Talbott for a sec there).

So I think at this point, we really aren't sure where anyone stands. The Shield, Hydra and Government are all separate entities right now, even the Avengers are on their own right now though I still think the government might be funding them at the end of AoU. Fury is certainly on his own, he proclaimed to be not with Shield anymore either but he is still probably associated with them but outside of Coulson, we don't even know who still follows him? IM is on his own at the moment too and he was hated by the government in IM2 then again that was before we found out the senator was with Hydra.

Man I am just so confused right now. :lol

Cap joining the government could be as simple as them promising not to repeat shield's mistakes. In the end, somebody has to join the government side and I don't see it being Tony.
