WELCOME TO THE MARVEL MULTIVERSE -*RIP STAN LEE & Boseman* - Agatha All Along new ep every Wednesday

Like I said in the Jurassic thread, Chris Pratt plays it right, and he's going to profit. Just gotta pick the right roles and he'll keep landing roles in blockbuster after blockbuster.

He's got the fast talking skills of the runty sidekick who's usually just the comic relief but also the looks of a stereotypical Hollywood leading man

Nah, wouldn't be surprised if Pratt is locked to a 9 film deal for very little money (at least not even close to how much you guys may think, no where close to RDJ stratosphere). Like Evans and Hemsworth getting paid like $500k in their first films and only got about $2m for Avengers and doubt if they even make $10m for any other films after.

Unlike RDJ who has such a foothold on Marvel that even in Cap3 (not an IM film) he is set to make the big bucks!

...the announcement that Robert Downey Jr. will be on hand as Tony Stark in the next Steve Rogers adventure, which not only signals big happenings but also a big pay day. The reported figure is $40 million-plus.

Variety's sources say he's signed on for a $40 million pay day up front, in exchange for an expansion of his role in the film. Originally, Tony Stark was going to be a bit player in the next Chris Evans led film, but Downey Jr. expressed that he wanted a meatier part in what promises to set Marvel Studios up for the next couple of phases. However there is a way that Iron Man could be bringing home something extra when this is all done and over, as he's reportedly negotiated a portion of the film's backend profits.

In addition to receiving a cut of Captain America 3's profits, there's a clause set in Robert Downey Jr.'s contract that will put him in line for another pay out if the film breaks the franchise's record. So if Captain America 3 exceeds the $714 million total gross that Captain America: The Winter Soldier brought in, Downey Jr. will receive an extra pay out, presumably for making that happen.

Last I remember Pratt wouldn't confirm how many films he is for but it defintiely sounds like more than three:

Jurassic World's Chris Pratt may have denied rumours that he's set to star in either Ghostbusters or the Indiana Jones reboot, but the actor did reveal in an interview with GQ that he's contracted to star in both Guardians of the Galaxy and non-Guardians of the Galaxy Marvel movies. "I’m tied to doing three more, or five more, Guardians of the Galaxy or whatever it is, you know, two more Guardians plus another couple," Pratt confirmed.

Also, according to this website, Pratt is locked for 7-8.

Remember that stuff from Last year about Batista getting his contract reworked? They probably hooked all of the cast up with some options.

I mean they'll probably get a slight raise but it's just hard to imagine them and Pratt making much more money than Evans and Hemsworth and those guys are still reported to be vastly underpaid. It was reported they were offer $500k raise for the sequel and another $500k if the film makes $500m+ in the box office.

I mean if those guys aren't making RDJ money (not even slightly close), I doubt Pratt could even come close. Pratt will bank his big bucks on his other projects outside of Marvel. Plus this is Marvel/Disney, Mickey is probably sh*tting himself every time they have to put RDJ in a film, they aren't going to allow anyone else have that much leverage on them.

:lol I'm just talking about more options being added to the backend of the deal

It's probably per movie after they do the core 3 films they originally signed up for.

I don't get into the salaries, couldn't care less + they keep so much of it secret

Marvel Cinematic Universe might just be the best thing to happen to film and the best thing to happen to comic book culture.

DC lost.

Dark Horse never had a chance.

If Ant Man is bad, they will just do like what they did with IH and not make anymore solo movies. They'll probably ignore anything that happens in Ant Man too (ie. Like The Leader, Abomination in IH) but still use Ant Man in team ups

It's amazing Pratt went from funny fat guy on a network cable show with meh ratings, to THIS.

GOTG2 will be even bigger because he's a bigger name.

Yeah, he really jumped from being a supporting role to a headline name. Good for him.

Hopefully I can watch Jurassic World tonight.

Hopefully Ant-Man will be good and they can include him in the Avengers 3, (whatever the title is). Pratt is another case of GOOD casting, acting and directing. That's what makes CGI movies so difficult. If just one of those factors is off the movies come looking out like *****

Well the ratings don't look that impressive. I'm not sure what a good number for a sitcom is nowadays. Looked it up and 4 million viewers and under for the last few years. Only in the top 100 ratings wise for the first season.

NBC is terrible at packaging their shows. Parks & Rec suffered when The Office left too because I think it was the lead in show for it. IIRC Whitney took its place :lol so that didn't help

Lol Chris Pratts was a no name until the tail end of Parks and Recreation.

Lol when GotG was casting, Pratts was still fat. They almost didn't take Pratts because they were skeptical that he would lose weight.

There was a legit discussion going on.. Probably wouldn't have taken him if they didn't see a picture of how he looks when he drops weight.

'you really like that fat dude from that TV show'

'trust me. We'll make sure he loses the weight.' :rollin

I thought Pratt has proven over and over again that he could lose the weight? He did it for Moneyball and Zero Dark Thirty?

Yea, but the ppl casting GotG at the time didn't know much about him

They didn't even know his name. 'Oh that guy from that TV show' lol

Also when they finally learned more about him, I'm sure the fact that he always gains the weight back is a factor considering they want to cast for multiple pictures.

I think dude has gained some weight back but it's not as drastic. Dude just really, really likes food. :lol
