Spider-Man was lowkey the MVP of this film man. Easily took on Winter Soldier, Falcoln, Captain America, and Ant Man/Giant Man at different points in this film. And that's after only 6 months of experience. Son hasn't even come close to reaching his full potential Handle it right and he could be the face of the MCU once Downey retires. The thought of actually seeing some classic storylines for his character done right fills me with joy.
Spidey got the symbiote costume in the massive multi-character crossover event in space, but it was just a nifty costume that changed into his regular clothing at will and made webbing for him. It didn't actually factor into his stories as something negative/villainous until later down the line in his solo series.I would leave the symbiote for the Spidey movies

Seasoned, adult Spidey should be able to wash all the hand to hand fighters
Not gonna lie

I think some of y'all worried forget or don't know that a "bubble" in Hollywood can last for decades.
So even if you count other studios, this superhero movie bubble has only existed for 16-17 years. Only 8 if we single out the MCU which should be a distinction cuz there is a difference.
I wouldn't mind if the bubble burst and these other studios closed up shop on the superhero front and Marvel was left standing alone and finally got the film rights to all of their properties back.
I would also be OK with the Symbiote being like the Ultimate version
The cure for cancer gone wrong
But I think the MCU is completely embracing the alien/fantasy aspect at this point. And they're not going to do something stupid like have it fall out of the sky like in SM3.
And a Venom movie is supposedly still in the works.
Betting 40 reps. The symbiote will appear in Infinity War.

16-17 years? Didn't the Tim Burton batman movies come out like in the late 80's early 90's?

Zik might've been speaking of this current era where comic book films are super popular. Yeah there have been films before, but nothing on this scale and Batman and Robin (1997) pretty much killed any interest in the idea for years afterwards, until Batman Begins (2005). Like never before have we consistently gotten so many superhero films like we do now. The comparison someone made earlier to westerns is probably the best example. Once they were everywhere, like comic films right now, but now they aren't.
The competing factions in this thread have more beef than the dudes that actually fought.
these are some bud lite cold hard faxThe motivations from both sides in this thread are far better than BvSThe competing factions in this thread have more beef than the dudes that actually fought.
So technically, CW>>MCU thread >>>>>>>>>>>>BvS
Those movies were not making billions of dollars (I don't even think hundreds of millions even if you adjust for inflation for the movies of today) to create a sustainable market focused on a specific and thus a bubble. My time frame for this bubble is '99/2000 (Blade and the X-Men). I say then cuz that's when the tech got better to do do the special effects.I think some of y'all worried forget or don't know that a "bubble" in Hollywood can last for decades.
