got a question, can I still flash a custom rom even if I don't get the s-off? I used the firewater method, I did the command prompt stuff and in the end I got the "whelp... doesn't work.. etc".
I'm sure my bootloader is unlocked, just couldn't get s-off. help

Nope, you don't need s-off.

Crazy ****... Just rooted my N5 in 20 seconds from my phone

Yeah man. It's crazy easy to root the N5. 1st thing I did when I got mine. I'm not tech expert either. Now get Xposed Installer to do more ish with your phone.

BTW: For N5 users, try out the Unbounce Xposed app. You need to be rooted and have Xposed though. It lets you control how often your phone wakes up as well as the alarms. Been using it for about 2 weeks and I've consistently been getting 3.5-4hrs OST. I could live with this phone now and skip this year's Nexus. I even donated to the guy and I rarely do that

Yea, on my old N5 I used Wugs Toolkit and it was easy that way... I didn't think it can get any easier though... Towelroot was literally 20 seconds

Why would you bother, just add $40 and you have 3x the battery life and a free shock cover and screen protector

For three reasons. I don't like how thick it makes the phone, because I can get an oem battery for much cheaper, and because a 9000 mAH battery is excessive for my needs.

SMH at the Sony Xperia Z3 being a Verizon exclusive... :rolleyes :{ Guess I'll be waiting for the next HTC then

^ It'll be on T-mobile. The announcement today is for a Verzion variant. It doesn't even have the front facing speakers :lol

I thought the event was going to announce the Z3 for every carrier. I'm on AT&T. I believe it does have front facing speakers. They seem to be using the Z2 design instead of the Z3. The speakers are much more subtle at the very ends of the phone.

ok successfully flashed a custom rom :lol

thanks nawz and tetsu :Nthat

still trying to figure out stuff though

slab_diaz slab_diaz looks like you're using a GSM version so ignore those carrier sections.

Stick with these two sections.

Are you looking at AOSP based roms? Here are some:

Read up on each rom's features. Try them all out. See what you like. Happy flashing!

I have an M7, not a fan of sense, so currently using a Cyanogen rom. I'm not sure if you use xposed, so keep mind Xposed is kinda funky when used with custom roms.

Are all those aosp Roms compatible with Sprint? I've been trying to find a cm11 based Rom but I haven't found anything.
