alright. Once I figure out which ROM I want to use, how do I put it on my phone? Sorry, I'm a complete noob right now. Thanks for your help.

I have the Incredible..and yea I select the ROM from the sd card and then got confused after that

you can do either way, but NEVER extract the file. Just leave it as is, go into recovery wipe dalvik cache, wipe data/factory reset and wipe cache then your ready to flash your rom.

I don't own a X but I think just downloading Rom Manager from the Market and flashing clockwork will do the job. And once you find the ROM just place it on your SD card and don't unzip the zip either just throw it on your SD how you downloaded it.

If your not running the MIUI 1.29 rom on your Evo you need flash it ASAP. BY FAR the best running and most polished rom i have ever flashed i don't see myself leaving anytime soon.

ohhh my fault, i thought you were trying to flash a rom. For icons you extract the zip file and put them in your SD card. You will need either folderorganizer lite or bettercut to change icons. If you want myn's look you will need to download launcherpro as well.

To change your icons you don't need to be rooted or have a rom.
Find an icon pack
Save
Drag/drop onto sd card.
Long press icon on main screen
Change icon?
Select icon.
Someone correct me if im wrong

nothing really, i believe bettercut is not free. I used folderorganizer lite.
here are some instructions on how to use it(found on android forum):
1. Open FolderOrganizer
2. Select the App tab
3. Tap the down arrow next to the app you want to change
4. Select Icon
5. Navigate to the icon you want to use (assuming its a jpg/png you can use Android Image Gallery)
6. Select it (its now associated with the app in FolderOrganizer)
7. Goto to the home screen you want to add the app too
8. Long click the screen
9. Choose Add Widget
10. Select FolderOrganizer Item
11. Choose Apps
12. Select the App you want to add

I've tried CM6.1 and was disappointed in the battery life on my n1 it was pretty bad.. On two roms Leo and Rods I can get atleast 2 days on medium use but on CM I was just texting and it was draining quick!
