Valentine's Day 2k15: Vol. Simpin' Aint Easy

I just wouldn't take her out. Going out next weekend to stack is stil a dinner and outing at the end of the day.

We're going out of town so it's not any different than what we'd do on a normal weekend every couple of weeks so if I just totalled up the gifts for her, her mom, and my mom seems like around $100. Got her some lingerie, pearls, the customized magnets/ photo prints, chocolates from Russell Stover on clearance from Walgreens, gonna print some stuff at work so that's free.

Has anyone totalled up their costs yet for VDay? My estimate is at 100-150 feels batman...I'm just like...thats half a paycheck (shush i only work part time)
My ego can't handle being called a broke boy (she didn't out right say it but it was HEAVILY implied)

Gift was like $90 but most of that was covered by a gift card.

50 Shades is like $25

Dinner is going probably be $100 +

We're staying at a hotel Saturday night but it's free because she used points but since it's a Ritz she used hella points :lol. So I don't mind spending a lil bit

I didn't spend too much on her Christmas stuff (~$100) which was covered by gift cards :lol

Has anyone "convinced" their girl that VDay is a forced commercialized day of love and that you don't need the world to dictate to you what day you have to profess this love?

Y? V day can be dope if your girl contributes. Yall doing it wrong if you think your only one supposed to be giving.

I ALWAYS participate in Valentine's day by giving gifts to the wifey.

You know why? March 14th, bros. I planted that seed a few years ago. Give and you shall receive.

Not the only reason I participate, but its fun to know there's a "man holiday" one month later! ;)

Naw

My girl loves this kind of stuff and I don't mind it. I'm actually looking forward to it. About to enjoy the little staycation, a nice steak and some amazing sex in a beautiful hotel.

This is also our first V-day and it happens to be on a Saturday.

Do you guys do this throughout the year or only on Valentines?

I do stuff like this for her year round, would have even bought her the same gifts eventually (although possibly not all at once) which is why I don't mind the somewhat obligation. She is doing things for me too, I know she bought me some gifts. I hope yall dude's chics ain't just expecting yall to wine and dine them then not getting you anything, or just "rewarding" you with sex. We have sex every time we see each other so that's automatic anyways. It's also our first Valentine's together, both of our first time in a new city we're going to, so no matter when it happened we were going to want to do it big and make it special.

if your girl really loves you, she wouldn't care that you're broke.

$ can't buy love

100-150 is actually half your paycheck?

Must be a part-timer

Virtually every weekend, and some weekdays if we don't have to be up early the next day.
we eat good, and travel, but V-day is such a chore to me. She don't even like it either cause we both hate the waits at restaurants and the upcharges everywhere.

I feel you 100% on the restaurant thing.

I usually do something at the crib that night instead. That way I can play her favorite slow songs & we can get right to it after we're done eating.

Brah's, what's your take on buying flowers a couple days in advance, soaking them, and then giving them on V-day?

Are there any other types of nice flowers to give on vday instead of roses....or in combination to roses to stand out from the crowd?

About to visit a florist today...

Nah...I think that but at the same time I respect the fact that women take it pretty seriously so I do my part rather than raging against the man. And the thing is if you're girl is cool like that it could just be a day to show affection and something cute rather than balling out and making a show of your love (the irony of what im saying right now hurts)

Yea my girl is contributing and it makes me appreciate vday that much more. Because i now see it not as males giving to women but as people who have any kind of love for one another doing something.

I put the order in in advance and then just pick it up the day before. Much less hassle.

You just gotta sneak it. Eat the yambs from behind and catch a quick swipe at the starfish. She'll like it so much she won't eem care trust me
