TV: Cable or satellite?

Cable? Psssh, never again.

I live on my own and I have Cable TV/Internet.  I've always had cable and its very reliable.

But I keep getting these Direct TV ads and it seems like they have so many channels and HD channels.  Seems like I need to switch but I don't know anyone with Direct tv so i can try it out for myself.

People say you lose signal with satellite.  I might give it a shot in a couple months.

Those ads are exagerrated like hell. The most I've lost signal during bad weather is 2-4 mins and then it's good. (Customer since 05)

the only things you're missing out on by having cable are:
  1. constant loss of signal during any kind of weather (wind, rain, snow, sun...almost impossible to keep the signal for a full day)
  2. slow satellite based internet connection (upload speed so slow you can't do any online gaming)
  3. signing a contract with early termination fees
  4. all the other hidden fees in their contract
i would never, ever have satellite television service again.
