Jesus MOTM

hope people remember to temper their expectations for him right now he is only 19 but man is his potential mouthwatering.
Sounds familiar to a certain player on the other Manchester team who made a similar positive debut last year...

If this season is any indication of the difficulty for young players to have elite consistentcy though, I would hope you hang on to Aguero for a few more years.
I do think it would be best to try to hang on to him for a couple more years. If he leaves sooner it'll suck cause we will be losing a club hero but if he goes the young forward talent we have I won't worry to much.

Maybe but thought the Tony comparison was where he was getting at since he was also 19 on his debut, came flying out of the gate and was already playing professional senior footy before joining like Jesus

Rash came straight from the U-21's

Also speaking of Citeh...

@City_Watch: Manchester City are prepared to axe Claudio Bravo and move for Benfica goalkeeper Ederson Moraes (23) in the summer. [@DuncanCastles]

That was fast :lol

And as much as I'm willing to gladly take Griez, he's not our main solution.

Someone needs to step up into that Carrick role, boss up the middle, dictate the tempo and distribute the ball.........and yes...right now.....I'm looking at Pogba. :{

And some defenders (as good as they've been playing lately) need to be replaced.

I totally agree with you.
A Carrick replacement must be the #1 priority. Weigl would be awesome.
#2 should be a RB, that can rotate with Valencia and be the future on this position.

I agree a replacement for Valencia must be found asap. It's crazy that he's actually 31 right now.

But the left back situation needs to be fixed as well, hell, the entire left side needs to be resolved.

Man I'm starting to get pissed at Jose for the way he's treated that left flank this season. Shaw has looked threatening at times and adds pace and impetus that Blind simply doesn't have. Dude looks rusty often because he never ever gets a run of games. He starts once then see's the bench for the next month :lol. He would work really well with Tony on the left if they get the chance imo and would be a good complement to Valencia's deep runs on the right.

Also he needs to get his head out of his *** regarding Tony,he's without a doubt the best LW on the squad yet is no more than a squad player right now... :| :| :|. He wasn't made the worlds most expensive teen at the time for that :{. The fact that he balled out and scored lots of goals on a terrible attacking squad last year makes it legit infuriating to see him being left out all the time.

I'm sure Mou's got a replacement for Valencia in the works. In terms of Carrick, that's gonna be probably the toughest one to find. Dude does so much for the MF with such ease, won't be easy to replace at all

A replacement for Carrick is a MUST. That's the number one priority IMO

:lol :lol y'all trying so hard at this point.

Would've figured for as much as you follow our squad it'd be pretty implicit that I was referring to Martial, who is arguably a better player than G. Jesus but we really have no idea who will turn out better. I hope both turn into world class players over the next few years.

Ironic too that people are quick to bash Rashford and annoint Jesus when Rashford broke into both a major club and senior national team before Jesus... they're 19, gotta give em both time before we start with the ridiculous takes.

Yeah there is really no point in debating who is better out of any of these 19/20 year olds so much can change in the next few years all we know is they all have potential with varying ceilings. I'm just happy City seems to have locked up who will go forward for us for the foreseeable future.

Our finishing has been so horrendous that for me top priority is getting in a world class finisher. With Griez all but nailed on to be that world class finisher, I think we are going to get a destroyer instead of a deep lying playmaker to compensate for Griez and Pogba being in the same midfield. Pogba is going to have to be a lot more mature in his play if Jose does decide to have both in midfield.

Agree with adding some new names to the backline.

Zlatan isn't going to be dropped and Griez is better centrally than he is out wide. So I'm hoping he plays as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1. That restricts Pogba a bit but would rather him be restricted than Griez.

I think a 4-4-2 would be better in that scenario for you guys or a 4-4-1-1 with him just behind Zlatan. Won't get the best out of Pogba in deeper role imo.

It would but Jose has never played with two strikers so I don't believe that will be an option for us. I think it will be either Griez as a 10 in a 4-2-3-1 or Griez out wide in a 4-3-3. Agree on Pogba currently although I think he can grow into a deeper role as he matures. He's so well rounded that he could do a job anywhere in midfield.

Well Zlatan only has a one year contract doesn't he? That should mean that Griez will just start up front unless Zlatan re-ups
