Arsenal fans most of all should know how important world class strikers are since we've been searching for one since RVP left. Don't see how that's logical at all that you think he would based that opinion from being an Arsenal fan.

Trophies aren't there because certain strikers can't finish in finals (Higuain)

Argentina reached those finals (especially in the two Copa Americas) because of elite striker play in the earlier rounds

Argentina is a perfect example of how important strikers are. When they show up, you can beat anyone. When they don't, you're going to lose to Chile (twice).

Chile is elite though

Not really.

Man I don't even believe what I posted :lol

I like chile though :hat

Interesting interview with Henry and Pep. Henry is a very good interviewer he is one of those great players that are also great in conveying their understanding of the game which I feel like doesn't happen often in sports. I believe its only a matter of time before he will be a coaching his own team.

Liverpool almost won the PL in 2014 because they had Suarez, a healthy Sturridge, and Sterling.

Midfield and defense is overrated b

The high pressing from that team negated the need for a great midfield and backline. That team would've looked more like Bale's Spurs without it.

Nagbe back on the national team *******

Forwards and mids shouldnt be compared with goals and what their worth is to a team.

With Trey's logic on his own teams Argentina would of been World Cups winners and Liverpool should of been BPL Champs by now if their strikers showed up :lol. Defense and midfielders being overrated is laughable, isnt that what Germany did to Argentina in the WC?

Scoring is not the hardest thing to do in footy. Moving the ball up and getting your attackers, not just strikers, into position is the hardest thing to do. I dont even know how this even an argument. We are so spoiled with CR7 and Messi scoring that we underestimate the value of the people pulling the strings to even get them into scoring positions.

Everyone over glorifies the Striker/Forward role because of the few World Class elite players that can take on and disect defenses but for the rest of the footy world, if you dont have a good midfield, your team sucks.

Since the Miami club was mentioned the other day....this is a good point. The lack of buzz def hurts

What has really hurt the Beckham group in my eyes is the lack of communication and transparency. They go months without saying anything. They don't do anything to get what few fans they may have in Miami revved up to generate some good PR. If you are dealing with politics, then one of your best weapons is having Beckham hanging out with future MLS Miami fans on a youth soccer field or something and generating grassroots support. I am sure there is a ton of work going on behind the scenes, but if you have no public presence, you have nothing.

like i already hate tacos, but argentines are even worse cos they try to pretend to be white

All I know is FIFA robbed Iniesta and Xavi in favor of Messi for the 2010 and 2011 Balon D'ors. Those years had some of the greatest midfield performances I've seen in my life from those two

Absolutely no reason on the planet that he should not have won that year.

Damn that's a good ball in by Willian

They should have capitalized on that.

Man City and Arsenal draw tomorrow would be real nice as well as a Liverpool loss on Monday.

People saying Pogba isn't worth the price baffles me. Without a strong midfield, it's harder to win games week in and week out, especially if you're playing midweek in a Uefa tournament. Midfielders orchestrate the offense, and control the tempo of a game.

Take a look at Barca, they're a completely different team with Iniesta on the pitch compared to when he's off the pitch. Barca struggle to create chances and pick apart the defense when Iniesta does not play. Back when Xavi played, it just elevated Barca due to having two very commanding and impactful midfielders.

Also, take a look at how Real plays when Modric is on the field and when he's not, same can be said with Kroos for them, they look like a completely different, more lethal team when they're on the pitch.

Take a look at Xabi Alonso leaving Madrid left them, and how much more it elevated Bayern as a team.
