Can someone explain how Jayson Williams who averaged 13 and 13 was an all star in 98

He averaged 13.6 rebounds, so it rounds off to 14. He is far from the worst all-star choice throughout history.
The worst all-star ever is either Dale Davis in 1999-00 or probably B.J. Armstrong in 1993-94. He averaged 15, 2 and 4. That year Sprewell replaced MJ on the All-NBA 1st team, B.J. replaced him in the all-star game.
And to think, this year a guard who averaged 30, 4 and 6 couldn't make it to the all-star game.

Roy Hibbert averaged 11 & 7....and was an all star. Cut it

He got selected because neither of those, but because of his 2 blocks. But yeah, he was pretty bad. I'm not delusional not to think that big men post-Shaq have been generally lacking quality like some are delusional to think that guards sans-Jordan in the 90s were lacking quality.
