the Pels are missing their rookie who many exected to be one of the more NBA ready rookies in some time, Derrick Favors who's legit there only decent big (Hayes ain't ready yet) has only played in 9 games, Lonzo has missed 7 games.

Throw in Gentry not being a good defensive coach + half of the current rotation being guys in their third year and under & you get this. Beginning of the season the Pels were losing at the end of a lot of close games... got it together for a nice stretch & then have really slumped the past 2-3 weeks.

with that said they will be fine going ahead, and still have one of the brightest futures in the league.
I feel like they have no real defined leader, so that's also a reason why they looked so washed up. Tons of talent on that roster though, so if Zion returns/stays fit, they should be good. Imo they need a older player who will pound chest to help encourage them rain, sun or snow.

Jrue kind of is that, but outside of him & i "guess" JJ there has been no veteran leadership on this squad & it shows.

they've had at least 5 losses that were within 5 pts, they were very winnable games. But when your playing Kenrich Williams, Jaxson Hayes & Jahlil Okafor big minutes at the end of games, your gonna lose those.

Especially considering Ingram is still learning to become a closer on the squad. Zion's injury is allowing them to experiment with different lineups & see who/what works.

But these dudes are in need of front court depth badly

With all the injuries Portland has encountered, I think Phoenix might make the most sense for Love.

Miami would be a good spot too, but I think they want to keep their books clean for 2021.

Good lord. :lol :lol They gotta get dude outta there.
---
People really talking about Zo ain't good enough for even a QO? :lol Come on.

He ain't that good, but he does enough stuff well that he'll have a role for a long time. Unless he morphs into something new, he's at least got a solid shot at being a good 3&D guy... Shooting it well in catch-and-shoot scenarios. Big enough to play off the ball and defend bigger wings. He'll figure it out - just won't ever be a star.

So a PHX deal for Love would be something like Tyler Johnson + Kaminsky or Dario + 2020 1st?

Rubio
Book
Oubre
Love
Ayton

Baynes, Bridges, Frank/Dario and Cam Johnson off the bench. Not too bad.

I thought Ingram would be best served patterning Iguodala for his career path. Then he decided to make jump shots from everyone on the court.

But what if Zo was the Iguodala successor?

Idk but its hard as hell now to get the ball in deep for those seals with everyone flying around. That’s why the good offensive bigs can really catch it outside and bring it inside

Smashing Rademita though.

I don’t watch the Magic but will Mo Bamba ever be more than a nice song?

my opinion on him hasn’t changed much.
he needs to stay healthy and he’ll be a super role player. I’ll take that on the Lakers all day.

I don’t remember where you were on his potential, but yeah he’s a role player

he still can’t shoot doe

Zo has always been my dude but you can’t really be a superstar if you can’t put up 15 points a game. You can’t really demand 8 figures if you’re afraid to drive and you can’t make free throws.

I’m still in for his defense, IQ and passing. If he can hit open 3s at a good clip I’ll take him on my team.

I never thought he’d be the first or 2nd best player on a champion squad but I still think he can contribute to a playoff team if he stays injury free and works on his game.

Read a good piece abt the NBA’s rating issue and cord cutting general apathy LeBron going to la all play a part

but IMO the 82 game bubble has simply burst

the league has to find a way to make the games matter. Shorten the season or incentivize the midseason tourney in a way that has chip ramifications. People watch important games.

everything from commentary, to minutes managing, everything is geared towards the postseason, which has reached a tipping point with the consumer

I don't think the average viewer likes players moving every two to three years either.

Ryen Russillo had Ethan Sherwood Strauss on his podcast to discuss his recent article on ratings: https://theathletic.com/1443125/201...ome-popular-myths-and-looking-for-a-solution/
