The Walking Dead - Official Thread

Naw fam, only people with positive opinions of this show are welcome.
i been followin this thread since its inception; plenty of naysayers with actual complaints have been recognized and addressed politely and accordingly.  at this stage of the game though papi it's season four and all the complaints of the last few pages were the few complaints of the first few pages.  at this point those beefs done been addressed, accounted for and filed away.  this show is what it is and we just wanna comment on the actual content of the show.  you no like?  whatchoo in here for?

Did I post my complaint with the show just now? Obviously no.

So these assumptions that you're making up out of thin air don't apply to me.

I'm on the fence with twd. I rated it a 5/10 on imdb, which used to be\ 8/10.

why are you being disingenuous?  you posted 'Naw fam, only people with positive opinions of this show are welcome,'.  who cares if you haven't posted a complaint in the last post, you've obviously posted enough complaints to sarcastically say nobody can be negative about the show.  they aren't assumptions....you yourself put it out there

That comment was meant to poke fun at the dude with the street fighter avy.

"you've obviously posted enough complaints to sarcastically say nobody can be negative about the show."

This is another example of one of your made up assumptions.

Here'e my posting history. http://niketalk.com/forums/posts/by_user/id/37706/thread/506654/page/

Use that, instead of using words like "obviously."

there's an anime called naruto, which is very similar to dbz.
It's a huge investment, but it's worth it. That's if, you're expecting dbz 2.0.

Dexter is also a really good show.

If you want a list of good shows, send me a pm so i remember to send it.
I'm on mobile, so i'd be a hassle to try to find the list.

I cringe at the thought of giving beth the goods. She has nothing physically to offer. I was trying to see if she had a butt... But that's a no go  not even a little hip... She's definitely casted perfectly because she has the properties of a definite 16 year old.

I think she has a pretty face. Would not hesitate to sip some moonshine with her and help her take off that blood stained yellow polo while she sings to me.

Actually caught up on this season over the holidays. :smh:  My boys who still watch kept telling me the finale was hype. And yeah, it was pretty awesome for what it was. I mean...the show is still half disappoint, but at least it's more even now. I don't care if it's slow or if there's not much action, I mean I watch The Americans religiously. But when it's mindless and the rules keep changing? It's just show like this....you gotta have rules.

You gotta have some type of center that you can gravitate around. And the fact that everything...from how a walker can infect you, to what attracts walkers, to how to kill a walker, to how to hide from them, to what people prioritize...all have shaky rules. Any of that can change depending on what this writer or director felt like this week?

I don't care if unicorns are running through your show. If that's the story you're telling, and you maintain that reality, and you make me believe the people in your show understand and believe in it? Then I'm with it.

The fact that nothing is constant. From the dialogue that jumps between decent and kill yourself, to the characterization that just stops, to the acting that hurts, to the hollow storylines, to the easy when they feel like it kills, to the wacky sense of distance and time. It makes almost nothing matter. It feels like the show wants you to laugh at it half the time. It makes you not care about anyone or any goal, any conversation, any system put in place, any threat, any deaths or any kills. Not really. Not anymore.

It's amazing, that there's still characters worth caring about. That's how great the premise was. And don't get me wrong, this season, is for sure more consistently decent than the last one. It doesn't have as high highs, though. (Lori dying, Morgan, Glen & Maggie) And since I love zombies, I'll keep watching now, hoping they can get right. Cuz that's the worst part. It's always so close to being a show you could proudly say is really good. It has everything going for it, but it's always 1 step forward, 2 steps back. Like the stuff with Rick in that house was good...until it wasn't.

And this last episode with just Beth and Darryl. Even though the prison attack round II was kinda awesome, this was, for me, the best episode since the return of Morgan. Real characterization with dialogue and storytelling that works? Substance over mindless zombie killing? No side characters stepping up to take you out of the episode with bad acting and ****** storylines? It was just good tension that came from characters living and breathing. And the girl who plays Beth has really come into her own.

Damn good episode beginning to end. But I can feel those 2 steps back comin.

The kid who plays Carl is terrible, which is a shame, because the character itself is the best it's been this whole show. Carol's better now, but the actress permanently looks like she's in the saddest laundry detergent commercial. Tyrese can go die. Every part of the character and the way Cutty's portrayed it has been a letdown, top to bottom. Go look at what Derek Luke did on The Americans to see a real Tyrese. I mean, Shane was the most compelling character on the show. Morgan had the best acting and characterization. It's not like they don't know how to do this.

These new, Abraham Ford people are weak, already. And that's my dude from Southland too. :smh: But it's hard to care about what they do, what they've got to say, or where they're going, when they look, sound and act like they fell outta one of them daytime telenovelas. Real life cartoon characters. I get the motivations and what they're aiming at, but they look like the Old Spice commercial version of what they should be.

This show is so bad at introducing new characters in a meaningful way. All someone needs is a name, a bullet list of backstory, and a zombie killing style. For every hit, like Michonne, there's 10 misses. And when they miss, they kill the show for half a season. And even if they intro well, they'll either turn for the worse, or stick around long enough to have so little growth, you just want them to die already.

So I guess, I'll just be holding out hope that Maggie and Glen finish playing Jin & Sun tag. Those little girls are really interesting. And Beth won me over. TWD is kinda decent now. It feels like it finally has a floor, and it won't ever get so completely awful again, so I guess I'll just take the show for what it is. Somebody likes it. Lotta somebodies like it just fine.

But what sucks the most, is the high points and how damn good the game was. TWD's not even half the show it could be. If it lived up to its potential, this week's episode would've just been a throwaway. Instead, on a character level, it was one of the best in a long time.

And I won't troll after every ep, I know yall like the show. Prolly just check in after the finale, cuz I'm still a sucker for zombies.

...

damn. Cliffs: I really liked that last episode, and this season is for the most part better than last season. That's something.
