The Ultimate Soccer Thread 2012-2013 Vol. 3 Premier League, La Liga, Serie A, Bundesliga etc

Bayern's Neuer may be the best goalie I've seen in a long time. I'm so excited about Pep managing BM. I just wish I could see Bundesliga games. I miss having Gol TV... Really looking forward to the games today & tomorrow...

Tito may be coming back Barca. Hope he's not coming back too soon. I'd rather he be fully rested....

BARCELONA, Spain -- Barcelona coach Tito Vilanova may have finished his cancer treatment in New York and be back with the squad by the end of March, president Sandro Rosell said on Monday.

Vilanova, 44, needed a second round of surgery in December following an operation to remove a tumour from his saliva glands in November 2011 and his assistant Jordi Roura has taken charge until he is well enough to return.

Although they are still 11 points clear at the top of La Liga, Barca have stuttered in recent weeks - losing 2-0 at AC Milan in last month's Champions League last 16, first leg and going down twice to arch rivals Real Madrid last week.

Rosell said the coach was midway through a course of chemo- and radiotherapy and when he visited him in New York last week was "in very good spirits" and "very involved in the day to day activities of the club".

"There is no doubt that a group gets weaker when they lose their leader," Rosell told a news conference following a routine meeting of the Catalan club's board of directors.

"Sports psychologists say, and I suppose there is a scientific explanation to it, that after 30 days the group's shape weakens," he added.
"We have been without our leader for a long time now and it is normal to see this happening.

"He is longing to come back, hoping for the process to finish, which is due at the end of March.

"The other day he told me he was happy because he could start the countdown as he is over half of the process and he has less than 50 percent of it left.
"That is very good for his state of mind. He wants to come back and we want him back."

Some media reports in Spain have suggested Barca were considering bringing in a temporary replacement coach but an emotional Rosell categorically ruled it out.
"The absolute priority of the club this season is for Tito Vilanova to get his health back and everything else is of secondary importance," he said.

"I want to thank Roura for his work, he is a hero. We must thank him enormously for what he is doing because it was not his responsibility.
"Also the players who are suffering this burden and are still top of the league.

"Nothing will change here until Tito returns even if it costs us all our titles this season.

"I would consider it a successful season if Tito was back to full health by the end of it."

Barca have a La Liga game at home to bottom side Deportivo La Coruna on Saturday before they host Milan at the Nou Camp on March 12.

Neuer is slowly beginning to ascend past Casillas. Hart's form this campaign not meeting my very high expectations. Had him slated at #3 in the World previously.

On the real though, BM should've won the Champions League last year... :smh:

Hope they get it done this year.

Unless your a Catalan or Madrilenos, I don't see why people have to either only like Messi or only Ronaldo...I'm a Barca fan but I still like Ronaldo...

I'll do your photo 3 better...

Seriously though if RM win today, I think they along with Bayern Munich have to be the favorite to win the Champions League... This RM team is kicking butt just at the right time...

Y'all know damn well one of those belongs to Ronaldo. Messi has 4, Ronaldo has 1, that's absurd. Messi may be better but THAT much better? Na

But coaches, players, and the media hate him. He's going to go down as the most hated footballer of all time. Ronaldo sort of brought that on himself because he's arrogant but what aya gonna do.

But thats the thing, he really isnt arrogant. I swear to god, If Ronaldo wasn't such a handsome dude, I dont think he would get all the backlash he does get. Ive watched a number of interviews, and I would even say he seems more down to earth than Messi.

I saw that vid where a kid ran on the field and CR actually told the cops to let the kid be and he actually hugged the kid. Messi on the other hand ran away pushed a kid away.

Man Utd: DeGea Rafael Ferdinand Vidic Evra Carrick Cleverley Nani Welbeck Giggs VPersie...

Roooney!?

Madrid: Lopez, Arbeloa, Varane, Ramos, Coentrao, Alonso, Khedira, Di Maria, Ozil, Ronaldo, Higuain

Agreed.

I used to dislike Ronaldo cause he went several years without doing anything for the Portuguese NT besides diving and shooting from 40 yards out into the stands. He's finally matured a lot in the past couple of years though.

And even the Catalan/Madrid thing is pointless...neither Messi nor Ronaldo are from Spain (obviously). There's no real hatred between the two players, it's just that Ronaldo gets frustrated by trolls who yell out Messi's name whenever he's playing  And there definitely are many Catalan fans who respect Madrid legends like Raul, just like how many Madridistas respect Iniesta

Oh I agree with you, their is a huge misconception about Ronaldo. He really is a good dude, has a great personality. He's just very competitive and confident in himself and has no problem saying so, Messi is much more reserved.

Mix that what the fact that Ronaldo is a handsome dude, and is on the cover of fashion/style and girl magazines, of course the football world is going to hate him.

He handles it very well tho, he's jeered, he's yelled at, he's verbally abused more than any other player in the world, wherever he goes. But he uses it as fuel and rips teams apart. Which gets the fans even more angry.

Most hated superstar footballer ever, without a doubt. Is Ronaldo, Cantona is second. I'm just glad that Ronaldo is going to get a standing ovation in Manchester today. Fans are going to be classy. Kinda wish he never left, but that's another conversation.

^ I have a friend that works at a hotel in Beverly Hills, and he said that out of the 2, CR was by far the more down to earth of the 2. he said messi was acting like a diva about everything, denied a couple people that asked for a picture, and that he only left a $20 as a tip.
