The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

Honestly, I think I'll just wait. It's not something I need, just something I want. The Wimbledon looks classy and timeless, no doubt. I've never really tried flipping a Rolex, my wife's the one who's been into it. She has Chanel pieces that have doubled in value, and she's been telling me for years to keep buying Rolex. But I kept saying nah, especially since I don't even wear them that much.

However, if I find it for around 11k-12k mint, I'll buy it a heartbeat.

The highest ROI in Rolexes is in SS sports models and limited pieces, neither of which you are likely to get without a purchase history.

My wife said the same thing about chanel its because they keep in raising their retail prices.

I was thinking matching Wimbledons or yacht masters

But was holding out hope for matching royal oaks

Is the Wimbledon the most popular? Two tone looks so damn good. I also like a clean steel with mint face.

Of the Wimbledon vs the rhodium yacht master.. Wimbledon probably the most popular of the 2

But I’m probably only really thinking about either just to get a matching watches.. also helps that my relationship with my AD is great

But I’d easily go the royal oak route.. but getting a 41 is hard enough and then trying get a 41 and 37 in the same color could only imagine what hoops I’d have to go through for that

If they offer you a 41 like the one I’m looking for, how much is retail? Would you buy it?

Right now, no

I think only rolex I’d jump at right now is the titanium rlx.. or if the blueberry gmt comes back

But probably next year I’m going look into a connect I got that knows someone at AP to see if matching royal oaks is doable.. and if it doesn’t seem realistic, I’ll revisit the Wimbledon vs rhodium debate

I think I’d lean rhodium right now.. but I already have 2 jubilee bracelet gmts and I think I’m going get the Tudor white face black bay chrono on jubilee eventually.. so the rhodium yacht master adds something different to my collection

Actually I lie, I want a rootbeer too

Depending how some things played out personally and with AP, then I’d configure my lists of wants at rolex.. and what gets released by then

Post pictures of the ones you talked about and also want.

More than likely my next watch:

But depending on rolex releases.. if the blueberry ever comes back this moves to top spot (this is the old blueberry):

If they don’t release the blueberry, rootbeer is high on my wishlist since it’s different from what I have:

Still not sure how I feel about the rlx

Ideally I’d get the simple blue face matching 41 royal oak with the 37.. but the fallback would most likely be the rhodium (40 and 37):

The titanium YM is quite difficult to get. AD's don't seem to get very many in. I think root beer and the rhodium dial YM would be more attainable.

Finally ready to make my move on the Rolex. Torn between Date or no date.
Something to consider: if you won't be wearing it every day, unless you put it on a winder you will need to reset the time and date every time you wear the watch because the perpetual movement stops after a while. I often reach for my submariner without date for this reason because I only need to set the time and go.

Excellent point. My only automatic watch that I own (PRX) winding that date is slightly annoying when I toss it on. HAHA.
