The Timepiece Thread vol: READ THE 1st POST!!!

In my first foray into vintage, I recently acquired this 1971 King Seiko 45-7001. The hi-beat movement is so smooth and it was recently serviced so it’s sweeping like a charm.

Already looking into a Grand Seiko from the period…

What are your guys’ thoughts on Orient watches? I’ve been eying the Orient Bambino version 8. I’m getting tired of wearing my Apple Watch and want to get something else as a daily.
I have a diver and Iove it. The green Triton. Bracelet was weak but everything else is great. The Bambino Is a great choice

With tariffs potentially pushing retail prices even further up, I’ve found myself deep in the vintage rabbit hole.

Some gems out there to be had if you have the time and patience to dig.

only vintage ive considered the coke gmt since it doesnt seem to be re-releasing any time soon

im going to want it as close to perfect as possible though and i still see it around here just being way overpriced, store near me has it for $25k and when i asked for price considerations they said they offered 12 months no interest

but i saw this post last week and its got me at least looking

That thing looks 16mm thick and they had the audacity to use the word “ergonomics”.

Definitely not for me, but I see the grammar of design in it.

more pics, really impressed by this watch at less than $2k

38mm and 6.6mm thin

I love what CW has been doing and this continues that trend.

I have a 40mm Twelve that I’ve been contemplating selling to get a 38mm and this might push me over the edge. Only hesitation right now is I prefer my glacier blue dial than any of these colors.

What I like most about this new release is the redesigned bezel - being thicker looks more balanced and shrinks the face is a good way imo.

the more vids i see, the better it looks

and they almost got me with the impulse purchase but they f'd it up

almost bought the black one for less than $2k...

then i log in and the price jumps up so i think theyre tariff discount integration isnt working too well just yet but its also one of those guaranteed impulse sale to now im doing a double take, thats how finicky i can be

Jeffery Wright one of my favourite actors, (wears a lot of omega) wearing the Omega Seamaster Diver 300m in this Variety interview.

My AD offered me either a Pepsi on jubilee or black dial Daytona. My current rotation is a speedy/ Starbucks and Tudor Pepsi. I would sell the Tudor Pepsi for sure if I pick the Rolex. What do you guys think ? I can’t make my mind up on which one, I love both.

Pepsi on jubilee

Might get discontinued.. and could get the black face Daytona later on

The most I see happening is Daytona going 41 at some point

This is an outstanding dilemma.

9/10x I’d say the Daytona because I think it’s basically the perfect watch, but given the rest of your rotation I think I’d lean the Pepsi.

See if your AD will sell you both and slide that Daytona my way

no brainer for me, the daytona all day everyday

but for selfish reasons as i have a small wrist and daytona is like the goldilocks to me, i actually wear my batman less because it feels thick and big despite the two having a 0.1mm difference, the case shape just mold to my wrist better

my best suggestion is to try both on and walk around the store with both and see which fits you better

he has the starbucks and pepsi tudor, those two are very similar and swapping the rolex for the tudor and you got two watches that are even more similar to each other

and i call dibs on the daytona first

Easy to go ahead and let the Tudor pepsi go. Starbucks is a totally different color to be wearing. Daytona would have heavy overlap with the Speedy (tho could let that go like the Tudor).

A good conundrum to have.

And you already have a Daytona, I still need one at all. Dibs!

i think I’m more leaning to the Pepsi .. tried on a panda the other day at lunch and loved it - I think it I went Daytona it would have to be the panda
