I wonder what caused folks to start wearing these hats. I mean folks in the hood wearing them. Who started this trend?

I don't see it as much anymore. But I know it's probably based on location.

took a trip to houston a few years ago
hopped in a lyft and said "hows it going boss

dude looked at me crazy
asked me did I know what I was saying
then politely explained I shouldnt call people "boss" in texas
cause its a prison insult for officers "big ole sacka ****"

is this accurate?
never heard of this, even in texas/southern music
and, what about "boss hog"
that doesnt seem to have the same issue

Im not attempting to speak for Texas, i'll leave that for trill. No one, any where, wants to be called boss. Not even your boss. I'd find new vernacular.
