cause for me boss is interchangeable with bro/chief/brother/homie etc
a term of endearment
as in
"youre that dude"
"the way you carry yourself, youre a boss - I see that"

I agree about how boss is used interchangeably with those other terms. Boss is the worst of them all, however. It feels super condescending for some reason. Was at the store the other day and dude kept calling me boss.. was super annoying. It just sucks as a "term of endearment."
As does chief...however chief feels slightly less condescending.

I got my first and only suspension in 9th grade fighting some dude who off the heezy’d me during PE. Wasn’t even a smooth tween-tween-off the heezy move.. bro just dribbled up court and threw that **** like a randy johnson fastball.
