the thread about nothing...

I'm terrible at small talk. When someone politely asks me what's going on in my life, I answer, but I don't ask any questions back. I know the polite thing to do would be to ask questions back. But I just don't want to :lol:
I'm not terrible at small talk, I just hate doing it because the majority of the time its all insincere and its only purpose is to break silence. I actually enjoy genuine conversations so if I try to start one I mean it. The minute I feel the other person isnt engaged I just shut up

I definitely feel you man

I think you nailed why I dislike small talk. You can kinda sense when someone is just asking you questions to fill in the gap or when they really care about your answer.

Ordered off the bay a week ago

Package never updated, no tracking update, i’ve been in contact with the seller, he’s “looking into it”

I’m not worried cause worst case I just get refunded but man :smh:
So annoying when people don't provide proper update.

Also annoying when people don't provide positive feedback.

This chick at my job. :{

Our conversations always start out really good, but always end awkwardly. Like, we both get tired of talking to each other at the same time. :{

Word. When you like someone enough to initiate a conversation but you don't like them enough to keep the convo going for hours on end

That's exactly what it is. We tried, but we're on two different levels.

I wanted to go chill in my truck for lunch but its storming.

EDIT: Oh yea TAN, I'm a truck owner now!! :pimp: #dahemi

You probably find her attractive but your personalities don't exactly mesh and feeling is probably mutual?

Bruh...I never desire to speak to anyone for hours on end. If a convo does go on for that long and I'm involved, it was the topics...not the people.

Which is why I'm better in a group setting.

Realizing I've been having to cover my work counterparts through out the summer, I went ahead and requested additional days off for next month.

If these two can take a week off when they have responsibilities during their vacation. I sure as hell can take an extra day or two for myself.

They'll definitely feel it when I go on leave when Baby #2 arrives in November/December lol

Moral of this post: You have leave time, use it. Don't let anyone try to make you feel guilty for taking days off. Especially when your co-workers take more days off than you.

Man I took a day off today. Couldn't catch up on my sleep over the weekend and the bags under my eyes were straight Gucci. Left eye was having muscle spasms as well :sick:

Got a full 10 he sleep today and feel much better and the muscle spasms stopped in my eye

Always put your health first

Yea pretty much. We actually get along and work together pretty well, but when it came to THAT, we weren’t on the same page. She trying smash, I’m thinking she wifey material, she got on that thot **** kinda turned me off.

It’s like coming in the house on a hot day, seeing a glass of ice cold water on the counter. Condensation dripping off of the glass, taking a big chug only to find out it was actually Sprite. I love Sprite, but I really had my mind set on taste ice cold water, and it was looking so good when I thought it was a glass of water. Caught me any other time and I would’ve gladly drank the Sprite. Now it’s just a glass a Sprite that I thought was water.

She fine though, I’ll never take that away from her.

I know it's been discussed in one of thread about taking time off, but I agree. If you're mentally drained or just need a break and you have the time, take it.

There have been days where I've been exhausted with my work and having to cover my co-worker's team. Then my boss would ask me why I'm tired? Bro, you know exactly why I'm tired.

I haven't taken a full day off since March and if I had scheduled appointments or anything, I still went to work a half-day or up to my appointment time.:smh:

Even if it's just to sleep and be lazy. Rest.

I dunno. This is a fine line. I don't know why you couldn't catch up on your sleep this weekend. There could have been legitimately important things you could not avoid doing.

But if you just partied instead of taking care of yourself to be prepared for the following work week, calling off is kind of a ****** thing to do.

For the most part my extended family are in the same same tax bracket. But there's a specific subset of cousins that are pretty well off because their parents own two successful businesses. Sometimes I'm reminded about our different backgrounds when there's something they don't want to do (like sleep over my house the day before skydiving) lol

Maybe you could tell them to stop doing that? In a more constructive way obviously. You can also let them (and your boss) know that you will handle some of their day to day duties while away but you will not be working/starting/finishing any projects for them?
Give them a shock...that's the only way for it to stop.

Tough to really do that though if you truly care about the company's best interests. But you gotta shape up their attitude as well.

My main point I guess is don't do something to them that you hate having done to you. That only makes it worse...not better.
