That's the impression I get.

A parallel to this is DBZ. 

That show at the time was that show.

Now that lots of time has passed, it's easier to review the show.

Some people hold that show on an untouchable pedal stool, but people like me can see yeah it was kind of crappy at some points.

Still one of my fav. shows, but I see why some hate or dislike it.
