You're right I barely see any of these even the non SRT versions. Car was a great idea, only weighed 2900lbs & had some oomph from that 2.3liter. Back in 2015 a childhood friend of mine was driving the non SRT version with his cousin in the passenger seat. They loved to drink & it was late at night. The intersection they were driving on had a slight elevation in it & taken @ speed you can get the car airborne. My friend did just that & lost control of the car once the wheels hit the ground after going airborne, hit a tree trunk dead on. Both him & his cousin died on impact. The Neon was literally lodged into & wrapped around the tree trunk. My friends face/skull was so disfigured his family had a closed casket wake for him. His cousins family opted for reconstructive facial surgery...I did not go to his cousins wake. Upon investigation authorities found Henny bottles in the backseat ☹. The irony of it all was they died right across the street from a cemetery. Ain't that some ****. Dude was in the Navy & both were just 27-29 at the time...tragic just horribly tragic
Yeah bro most def terrible. Remember during the wake his pops was putting on for his family & being strong. Just looking at him you knew that man was dead on the inside but on the surface he had to smile...at least pretend to. My friends mom on the other hand...damn I don't even have words bro. A parent should never have to bury their baby. And damn you had a scary experience. Best to drive speed limit & not risk anything. Never happened to me but I can imagine going airborne even if just a little is terrifying. Glad you handled it thoughMan, that is terrible.
I will never forget way back going a little too fast over some train tracks and my Civic got a little airborne. Scared the **** out of me. Could have easily lost control and plowed into one of the houses that were right there.
Good looks brother, appreciate that. Man it was nuts. They were such great people. My friends name was Guillermo Rojas we all called em G $ & his cousin Michael Manucci. Friendly amazing Colombian dudes. My boy saw the post on it on FB & that's how I found out as I don't have any social media. This was right at the time Fast 7 came out & that song by Charlie Puth & Wiz dropped "Been a Long Day". I had a lot of classes with G. A bunch of us went to the same elementary, junior high & highschool together. Balled after school, hungout daily, just kicked the **** y'know. I worked 3 jobs back then & 1 of them was RiteAid so I got some candles to put at the crash site. Went there & ran into a lot of mutual friends. His ex was there too & man she was a mess & a half. They say the best people bring everyone together & it was like a bigass reunion @ G's wake. The wake was on a Sunday & I was getting off @ 4 from RiteAid. Back then I didn't have my cars(broke boi days lol) so I was like damn do I wanna bus & train this right now? I felt like I owed it to him & his cousin & I'm so glad I went. When you go to a garden you always pick the best flowers first- that day God picked his best flowers to come back to him. The good ones always leave early man.zmaqbool all jokes aside though, I’m sorry about your friends bro. It’s heartbreaking.
Nah do share. It helps, and it was definitely a good post.Lmao my fault, didn't mean to dim the mood. It's just everytime I see or read about a Dodge Neon that memory automatically pops into my head. Met the dude in the 1st grade. Never imagined he'd go out like that. They were suppost to cut down the tree but that never happened. It all happened 6 years ago & where it happened is just a 3 minute drive from my place. Tree is still standing
Lol yeah we all lived near one another so we all were zoned to the same schools. That's good too like in your situation it was diff group every year so no attachements. Sometimes it's easier that wayoh wow, zmaqbool you guys went waaay back. I never had friends stay too long so life long is a rarity for me. It’s like every year I had a new group to hang with and just as easily would move on once the school year was out. I’d come back to find out they went to another school or flat out left the state
Respect brother. Appreciate thatNah do share. It helps, and it was definitely a good post.
You bustin’ a Homer? HahaA big F.U to the Ice Cream truck that keeps posting up on my block everyday @ 6 after my runs lol
Ah I see. Most of my friends were from all over the place, some in different cities and they were bussed in due to overcrowding. Yeah, it was better for me in that I didn’t stay sad for too long. I was always anxious to see what the new school year would bring me, lol.Lol yeah we all lived near one another so we all were zoned to the same schools. Nah, I have to keep it movin cause I eat dinner after my runs. But if he's out there after dinner I'll bust a Homer for sure. Mans got soft serve waffle bowls with toppings lol.You bustin’ a Homer? Haha
I got the Chi 1s because my younger sis was my plug for a bit.i remember back in 2015, months before the Chicago 1 release, i put in the effort to make sure that i'd be able to cop a pair. then a week before release, i received news that they won't be releasing in the PI.
i then bought a few consolation pairs. but it still hurts lol. but i'm glad i have four pairs of shoes in the Chi colorway. and since the resell on the AJKOs are dropping here, i might have to wait it out until i'll be able to snag a pair below retail
You have kids?Unemployment tax refund just hit my bank account
