the thread about nothing...

I think for the most part CA is following social distancing. SF Bay Area is really following it. (I can drive to work and get their in 30min.) SoCal had a bunch of folks at the beach, which forced the state to close all beaches and parks.

Hoping things get better soon.
SF is on lockdown right? They're smart & ahead of the curve...hopefully it stays that way. How long of a commute do you have under normal conditions? I'd say enjoy the shorter commute while you can, but there's nothing to enjoy when mostly everybody is suffering. Glad they closed all the beaches and parks. They removed 80 rims from parks here in NYC & today shutdown all the parks period. People just don't get it. 1 on 1 with a sibling is one thing but 5 on 5 with total strangers...c'mon people!

It should peak within the next 2-3 weeks. Hopefully it won’t be too bad and it should slowly flatten out after if everyone follow the rules. Make it easier for the people working in hospitals too. Stay safe!
I def feel for hospital/healthcare workers, you hearing some of the stories out there on PPE? Men & women working 16-20 hour shifts!!! Insanity

Man I’m so sorry your area is getting hit so hard, just terrible news. Shooting hoops is fine the way you’re doing it but I heard people were out there playing 5’s with total strangers. Absolute madness to do that in NY right now.

Yeah, SoCal is doing well for not having a heavy enforced order. I have no doubt it will change if we start seeing numbers jump. People here will probably willingly give in to it just by looking at NY and Florida as examples of what could be. Stay safe out there bro, I mean it. Sending you positive thoughts you way today.
Thanks man, appreciate the kind words bro. I was kind of surprised my area being hit soo hard...I don't see or hear ambulance sirens too much in the neighborhood. Yeah the PD has been driving around and breaking up the crowds, 5 on 5...they're asking for the virus. Yes for sure hopefully people out in Cali use us & FL as a lesson. I was supposed to be flying to Chicago in May...needless to say that ain't going to be happenin anymore

Mexico is worrying me. The president doesn’t believe anything big will happen and is not setting up any kinds of precautions or safety measures. The country as a whole only has about 1,500 ventilators total. This has all the makings of a disaster. I hope that hot weather stuff is true after all.

My fam told me today that they’re making people stay Indoors and how some states have now turned into dry states.
can’t even buy beer at the corner store lol

We will be fine as long as tourists stay away

I wish we could do like Hawaii and have that 2 week quarantine for out of staters
I strongly believe that's where we messed up by having so many tourists in and around the city and tourists hanging visiting family/friends. They left but the virus stayed behind. I didn't know Hawaii was doing that, they're smart to do it that way. I saw on the news down in FL and other neighboring states, if state troopers and local PD's see NY/NJ/CT plates...they're asking you to turn around...interesting since a lot of people from the tri-state area have 2nd homes in FL/GA/Carolinas & are hell bent on escaping there right now.

Yeah, I understand your disappointment. Lets hope this gets cleared up soon, I have faith things will get better.

Does hot/humid weather prevent it from spreading? Saudi Arabia, Kenya and few other humid weather countries have gotten quite a few cases already

My commute is about an hour by riding a ferry into SF. With the shut down, driving only takes 35 minutes. Something not seen since the 70s-80s lol.

Yeah people are simply hard-headed. Like my brother-in-law.

Ya'll see this? Crazy!

Engineer tried to crash train into USNS Mercy in Los Angeles: Feds

Investigators arrested a California train engineer Tuesday after he allegedly derailed a train in a bid to crash into the USNS Mercy, the hospital ship treating non-COVID-19 patients at the Port of Los Angeles to lessen the burden on area hospitals, prosecutors said.

Eduardo Moreno, 44, was expected to appear in court Wednesday for arraignment on train wrecking charges.

Around 1 p.m. Tuesday, Moreno allegedly ran the train at full speed off the end of the tracks near the Navy medical boat, smashing through several concrete and chain barriers, before sliding through a parking lot nearly 250 yards from the Mercy, according to the criminal complaint.

No one was injured and the boat wasn't damaged, however, the train leaked a substantial amount of fuel, the complaint said.

A California Highway Patrol officer caught Moreno as he allegedly tried to escape from the scene, according to the complaint. Moreno allegedly told officers and FBI investigators that he deliberately derailed the train because he was suspicious of the Mercy's intentions and thought it was actually part of a government takeover, the complaint said.

"Moreno stated that he acted alone and had not pre-planned the attempted attack," according to a statement from the U.S. Attorney's Office in the Central District of California. "While admitting to intentionally derailing and crashing the train, he said he knew it would bring media attention and 'people could see for themselves,' referring to the Mercy."

In an interview with FBI agents, Moreno stated that "he did it out of the desire to ‘wake people up,’" according to the complaint.

Investigators are still reviewing surveillance footage from the scene, including inside the locomotive.

Dude I’m so happy to hear they’re getting tougher on people out there. They need to stay indoors already and just chill for a few weeks, it’s a small price to pay.

That’s what was being said but I know that simply isn’t true. This virus is still highly contagious no matter the climate.

My fam told me today that they’re making people stay Indoors and how some states have now turned into dry states.

Sounds like the mayors/states are doing this on their own without the presidents word. Man, no beer over there is going to get crazy, lol. Glad to know people have the good sense to stay indoors since you and I both know the healthcare system over there is absolute ****. Vale madre.
