When the officer initally asked if i had anything illegal on me i said no hoping by some miracle i wouldnt get searched or whatever lol. Im kinda kickin myself for it now as lying about it led to me getting another charge on top of possession.

So my question is this being my first ever arrest/charge is this something i should be concerned about? My court date is next week and have been asking around my circle for advice. I keep hearing different things some say ill just get a slap on the wrist w/ probation and a fine while some have spooked me out saying this could stay on my record if found guilty and it would be something i would need to adress when applying to state/gov jobs etc.

Btw just in case these details were needed - im 23, a former college student and currently employed

You're good bro. I've been caught 5 times, 2 of which I got off. You did the right thing by not admitting to it when asked. Your first court date is just a bs court date. Tell them you want to hire a lawyer if asked. I would recommend getting your own but if you don't have the funds then you'll be appointed a public defender. You'll probably enter your plea of not guilty on your second court date which they will schedule for a trial. The prosecutor will offer a plea bargain which will probably be diversion/probation. As a part of the plea they will probably drop the obstruction charge or whatever they charged you with when you lied. Hope this helps, if you have anymore questions pm me.

Didn't see the state/gov. job thing. It will be on your record until you get it sealed which you have to get a lawyer for. Even then I still think government/state jobs can see them. Will some places really care about a misdemeanor weed charge? It all depends on what you're applying for.

If your record is clean you can do an intervention program. It would be probation for a year ( usually over in 6 months if you dont violate) then the case is closed. Youd have to get it expunged 12 months after final disposition.

Amc sucks.
Have two green passes they gave me for free at work...I can't see any movie with them or even upgrade them. The tickets literally just chillin

its only 8 bucks for a yellow or black ticket but still i dnt wanna waste my money lol
