The Thread About Nothing. SNEAKER EDITION

I also see a lawnmower and an amphitheater. :lol

I think its safe to say a sock was the primary inspiration while everything else was secondary.

I wouldn't classify it with vehicular inspired shoes like the Kobe and XIV.

^ For sure.

Nice tidbit though, I never knew about that.

How about the XVI ? You mentioned those were vehicular inspired as well ? I recall them being inspired by the popularity of box toed dress shoes in the early 2000s and formal spatter-dashes of the 19th century.

do you hate the pes because you know it's almost impossible for you to get one?

More than likely will never own any. I feel the same way about the Zoome Revis & Nike hyperposite too, bunch of great PEs but they released the bare minimum.

Mocha 3s remind me of a lifestyle type release, I'd def wear those if I could get em.

NikeIDs color options are kind of wack right now.

nike always saved the best for the pros/insiders and gave the scraps to the consumer. its absurd and it's even worst now than it was a few years ago.

Never knew about the lawnmower and jaguar influences on the jordan XI. I heard a sock inspiration too mostly.

i don't think it's inspired by a lawnmower

pretty sure the patent leather represents a jaguar xk's sleek/shiny body, and the mesh upper represents the xk's softtop. pretty sure the mesh upper was based on a sock though

Naw it wasnt design wise inspired by a lawnmower but like thought wise.
I read somewhere he said in the mid 90s companies were designing mowers like sports cars...like something really rugged to do an every day practical job...but made extremely stylish.
But the design is inspired by what everyone has said so far basically

Theres some articles that talk about it but I cant find the one.

He designed the am1 after a see through museum in europe

I agree mayne. Another thing I hate is when they make a great sneaker but mark it up so high it's unappealing then just stop making new colorways of it.

Saw some guy who removed the flywire from his Lebron 10 and just used the holes they punched into the shoe instead...

And that's why you don't let teens decide how to wear their shoes...
