The Thread About Nothing. SNEAKER EDITION

As far as J's go I only really rock with 1s

Lightly into 3,5, and sixes but only a color way or two each

I love XI's. I copped the '09 SJ and and '11 Concords. I only tried them on and never wore each pair, but my '00 SJ feel like feet. They got better and more comfortable over time. I have to reglue my '00 SJ and Concords. I went up a half size for the newer XI's because of the complaints of them being tight. I covered that problem. Maybe I should rock out the new ones and restore the old joints and keep em on ice further. They're both still in damn good shape aside from the regluing that needs to be done. Idk.

@dankenstien88  the reverse jumpman kinda bothers me. Depends on the day

. Those anniversary XI's were a joke tho.

my brother has a pair of those anniversary XI's. WOAT XI

I need to ID me a pair of purple/white, Courier, and black/gum AF1 hi's

People be like:

"Aw hell naw, don't like that leather, it's going to crease"

No **** man, shoes crease when you use them smh

I care a lot about how a shoe wears. I like my shoes to last, nothing worse than wearing and it looks like it's been through WW2 after about 10-20 wears. I even stay away from most shoes that have translucent soles nowadays because I know they won't look good for long.

edit: creasing doesn't matter as much to me though

I do hate a majority of what JB has done since the original DMP though :lol

DMP was the beginning of the end. The XI's used no leather whatsoever and a rubber heat pressed Jumpman like fakes used, instead of a stitched one like all other XI's. It was the first to start this 2pack BS and hikes up the price of each shoe $25-$30. Ever since then JB has been toeing the line more and more each year to see what they can get away with.

THIS !

I cant stress this enough. I think one of the reasons JB went to using such cheap looking plastic coated leather is not only because its cheaper, but because it doesn't crease as easily. People complained so much about creases that JB figured they could kill 2 birds with one stone.

Real leather is supposed to crease, and crease easily. The nice thing about it is even though it creases easily it still looks nice and the creases are easy to remove. This plastic stuff on the other hand is very resistant to creases but once a crease is set in it is extremely hard to remove. The texture and finish of the stuff just isn't the same.

Additionally... I was saying the other day that I would like to see the large cell PU foams make a return. I know they degrade faster, but they are exponentially more comfortable than the small cell EVA crap they use today.

@dankenstien88  not only that, the leather that creases easily that people complained about lasts longer. Everyone got so anal about having clean crisp shoes all the time. They aren't meant to stay crisp forever. I hated that pack ****. I smelled that gimmick and didn't fall for it

. Making you buy 2 shoes, when you only want one. And the shoe you didn't want was SUPER garbage. Those 17's and the 20's from the collezione packs were a damn disgrace.

These comments about leather and how terrible packs are

I agree with every last word.

Concords are overhyped

The latest ones look horrible every time I see someone wearing them

Cant eem lie I waited in line for the very first dmp pack because I thought the concords wouldnt re re re retro looooool.
I like them but yea the quality aint nothin compared to the first concord retro.....still holdin up well.

Dmp and tiffany dunks are the only shoe ive waited in line for.
Tiffs were worth it cuz I wear em alot and I love em 8)
Bc 3s kind of a line but it was that black friday so I was already there.

It was weird wit the tiff release because the first 5 people in line were nters and I was like :eek
One of em was in a sc mag article.
Then everyone behind us (not exaggerating) were asian sneakerheads/resellers from another state I think.

truth be told, XI's are overhyped and that's my favorite shoe out of all that I have. I laugh when I see re sale prices on them. You'd be a fool to pay that much.

Tbh, I think all shoes are overhyped. Some are better than others, but in the grand scheme of things, it's not that serious.

I always wanted a pair of the Black/White/Purple ones.

I always wondered why Nike has a campus full of old retros and original shoes but never take the time to dissect one of those pairs to make correct molds for certain shoes.
